Hi Ledd i have new spings on the way,my door rams were fine,i have found that it is side load that is causing the rams to leak i fixed them by using a 2mm bolt through the 2.5mm hole this gives a little slop which should avoid any side load regards KeithW

Keith,
Congradualtions on the flights. Your bird sure is a beauty....I guess I will send them a note about the new springs.

Mike

RE: Fly Eagle F-15 (1/9) Building Thread
hi all i had three more flights today all were very good retracks and doors working fine, one thing to watch out for is the very narrow u/cart when turning cross wind it will go on to wing tip,to cure the side load on the door rams i have put a 2mm bolt in to the 2.5mm hole that retains the ram in place this small amount of play has done the trick and i have had no problems with them what so ever regards KeithW

RE: Fly Eagle F-15 (1/9) Building Thread
I've ordered the FEJ F-15C 'Tiger Meet' now with the optional air brake ($ 100 plus $ 50 for factory installation).
This air brake is radio controlled and really functional, not just for looking or show. Most likely not absolutely necessary, but at least it looks great and makes the model even more scale!
Does everyone know if the SM F-15 scale cockpit will fit into the FEJ F-15 as well? Unfortunately FEJ doesn't offer the scale cockpit details (yet), but I don't like ghost flyers!

Funny, I was wondering the same thing. I talked to Bill at TBM and he said they tried the F-16 cockpit with no luck. I would also like to know if SM will work. I'm inclined to believe that it will based on the scale of both airframes. I got my Edwards bird in last week and it was damaged in shipping. I have a replacement fuselage comming direct from FEJ. TBM has been very good about the claim so far.

Hello again, What servos are you guys using? I prefer Hitec brand. If you are using JR or something else please note the torque rating at your peticular voltage. Thanks. The instruction pictures leave alot to be desired on this one. I think I know what servos I want to use but I wanted to see what you guys were using.

I am using all Hitec digitals and the Hitec programer to assist. I have to tell you I was a Futaba man for many years and I had to switch or be killed by my fellow modelers. I bought a new JR 9303 2.4 DSM and had to re-train myself in the programming of this radio. At first it was not easy for me but I figured it out. The only thing I don't like is that on you P-mix your master will have trim but the slave will not that sucks.
Elevators HG 5945's
Rudders HG 5125's
Ailerons and Flaps HG 5645's
Nose stearing HS 615MG
the rest are std small servos.

Thanks Ledd4u. I too am a Futaba Tx fan. I am also a Hitec servo fan. I have flown IMAC, Giant scale gassers for the last three years and their TG servo geartrains outlast everything else. Lots of vibration in the gassers.
I couldn't help but reccomend you check out my best friends site and this product in peticular. If you own a Hitec programmer and use 5955TG (333oz.) hitec digital servos then you CANNOT be without one of his degree servo fixtures. It allows you to perfectly match servos if you are grouping them such as a giant scale application OR to perfectly match servo geometry and travel such as the stabilator setup on the F-15.

I am going to try and stuff a Hitec 225MG in the fin since it has more torque and better speed than the 5125. I also want to try and use a bent wire and eliminate the external horns and linkage. Just gotta find who makes that setup. I'll let you know if the 225 fits tommorow.

I've checked around and haven't seen any official mention of this?
Do we know for sure? Will it be on the F-15E model as well? I think that is the version I'm going to get.

Servo Related:
Today I test fit the Hitec 225 in the vertical fins and it will work beautifully. Its perfect!
I think I will run the little 225's on the air valves, rudders and nose wheel steering. 5955TG's on stabilators, ailerons and flaps.

Sweetpee01,
The new F-15E (I think, not C) looks to accomodate speed brake. They have some 3-D model on their web site. It is about 10" longer and a few inches wider. It is gonna a be a big mama......
Regards,
Mike

If you guys have pics of your progress thus far, show those suckers!
I pulled the center fuel tank out today and found small bits of trash in the tank and more crap around the clunk. Specifically on the end of the clunk down in the slot. Also the vent tube was not bent up to reach the top of the tank. I'm going to re-rig the tank and will have to replace the rubber stopper as it got torn up in the process. They glue those suckers in pretty good. I also feel like all the clunk lines are just about 1/4 inch too long. I worry about the clunk being restricted from drawing fuel when the clunk is jammed into the back fo the tank.
