RE: HomeDepot Kerosene
I have been told by various HD's (wheather they have any or not) that it is up to Corp. to lower the price. And it wont drop until then. The fact that some of you have received it at a lower price, means you were walking on water that day. Please tells us who you spoke with in the store to get those prices and what did you say to them. Jet A stinks in your car and never goes away and kero is more tollerable in terms of odor.

At one of the local HD's I've tried to cut deals with them by buying several gallons (full pallet) but with no luck. They say when and if it lowers in price I can buy it then.

RE: HomeDepot Kerosene
ok so maybe i was walking on water but this is what i know,i stopped by my local hd and had to search for the kero but found it in the garden department no help from the employes mind you ,the kero went on sale last month and all the leftovers 1,2,5 gallon cans were put on a pallet and shrinked wrap up tight could hardly tell what they were, anyway got the manager he had to look at the number on the pallet to look it up in the computor to find out how much they had in stock still, once that total was found, this is how the price was worked down from 35.95, first off i told them the sale price last month was 23.95, so since this was leftover inventory form a sale and it is seasonal i got it for 21.00 then to make thing even better i told him that last year the jet guys up in sac got it for 18.00 so he work the numbers and since i was getting all they had 14 cans he gave me an additional 20% off which in the end can out to 18$ a can i was happy and the guy working the numbers came out to help load it up and got some beer money for his trouble one more thing stopped by the hd about 20 miles away passing by sunday and they matched the price from my local hd 18 cans at 18$ in need to go fly, i think if you talk with the right manager you will be able at least to get it at the sale price of 23.95 anyway just my 2cents goodluck

RE: HomeDepot Kerosene
I too negotiated with the store manager at my local HD - got it for $24 for 5 gal can. However, he sold me some 1 gal cans for $4 per can. I wish he had a lot of the one gallons but he didn't, so had to buy the 5 gal cans.

The key here is to not give up [:@], go back at least 2 weeks after, tell the manager what it is for and buy the entire pallet, if that does not work, go back 2 wekks after and try again[>:].
He will give up and next year he ( the manager ) will sell it to you sooner than that.
Good luck man. [&:]

dsr71 - I could never figure out why you can buy the 1 gal cheaper than the 5 gal. Last year HD had the 5 gal cans at $19, but you could buy the 1 gals at $3 - almost 25% less.
