Hey Kevin, thanks for posting your info. on the jet. Does it have good controllability at really slow speeds with no ailerons? I think I am going to try mine with no ailerons.............
Yes, it does...I slowed it waaaaaay down to try some high alpha and she was steady as a rock...When too slow the model just looses altitude and won't drop a wing...One thing though-The Avonds model has a lot of camber underneath the wings as well as a lot of washout...This helps low speed stability...Another thing, I found that the recommended throws on the tailerons were not enough for my taste...I increased the throw to 135% on the JR 10X...I do use expo as well...Hope this helps...

I've got a "low/slow" show I do with mine. Vertical departure, and all high alpha flying. Turns with rudder and almost snaps. I laugh that it is my park flyer. Roll yank and goose the throttle for a end swapping turn. Never a hint of a snap, stall or departure.

PST 1300, 28# thrust for a 22lb airplane. It's a peach!

Kevin,
When you ordered your kit from Avonds did you pay duty fees?
How long did it take for you to build the model?

VERY Nice F-16 and exactly what I'm looking for.
Thanks,
Bob

I didn't buy this one from Avonds nor build this one but I did build one about six or seven years ago in the Edwards chase scheme...I did, however, take everything out of the model to re-plumb everything, painted the wheel openings, added missiles and hardpoint on the wings, etc...The model goes together VERY easily and the time it takes to build is really up to you...Glassing and painting takes up the most time and waiting for the hysol to cure...Starting on a saturday morning, working through the weeked, and working on it in the rest of the week in the evenings I would say that you could easily have the plane ready to glass in that time frame...

I don't think that any duty taxes were paid but it did cost about $200 to have it shipped over here..I think that any duty taxes are up to your state...I know that Kevin Barr was hit with a tax when he received his F-15 from Avonds..

Thanks, bud...I wish that I could take all of the credit on this one...(See previous post)...AUW I'm guessing to be about the same as Tom's...There really isn't much structure there to add weight...Glassing and painting is the only thing that will add significant weight..

Hello Thomas.
Philip uses the Robart 630 series for the F-16. You can buy it from him. Complete or as spare parts.
