stopped off at my on road spot after work today and ran my TC4 and Apex Mini (RC18R). tires on the TC4 are used up, one is cracking and has a hole and the foam can be seen. so that's going to need tires. Mini is fine. forgot how much the stock tires suck, but i can't find any other tires so im kinda hosed. which is really going to suck after these are worn out.

got the TC4 videos posted

Pulled my Sportwerks Turmoil out after many years of sitting. Fired right up and ran beautifully, it was nice to smell Nitro again!!

not gonna lie, had to google sportwerks turmoil. anywho, it is nice to smell nitro. iv had the hankering to bust out my nitro RS4 2 for weeks now. but frankly it's just been to hot and humid to want to hangout in a parking lot for any length of time to run it. but it is starting to cool off a bit so...

Ya buddy not too many people know that Buggy its a great little unit engine screams! I also started with an RS4 2 many years ago, I traded it for an RS4 3 Evo and put an .18 O.S Cvr into it, lots of fun.

tightened up the belts on the old Nitro RS4 2. im in the middle of attempting to get worn out tires off the rims. i picked up a set of HPI Super Star 5 spoke wheels and i need to order tires. also thinking of throwing an HPI Venom T-10 body on it cause why not.
also cleaned the battery acid out of the receiver pack. need to get a rechargeable hump pack. im tired of those damn AA's. also the plastic is starting to crack. so it's time for an old school upgrade.

Ya I remember those belts being a pain, rocks getting stuck and them snapping. As for the tires I use to boil them to release the glue. I had to switch to foam tires on my rs4, back in the day it would shred the rubber off the rim. That Venom body was classic!! I recall seeing that old F150 body for over $100 on eBay years ago. Definitely retro! 100% get a hump pack those AA are trash.

what i really want is the Dodge Ram body. but that thing, if you can find it is close to $100 these days.

also decided im going to swap over to the HPI Silverado body on my TC4. so i need to track down some 6mm offset TE37's in ether chrome or white.

That will look sweet, the TE37’s are classic! Man I remember when all these parts were readily available now it’s impossible to find. It’s too bad Nitro has been phased out. I will never get rid of mine.

HPI's parts are becoming back in stock, so the wheels may be available soon (i hope). im actually kind of bored with electric and have been kicking around getting another nitro. iv got an RC10GT i need to finish putting back together. after that i may pick up an 1/8 buggy. or maybe a Savage X 4.6.

I have recently decided on a rather interesting move, namely an arguably highly risky one, and that is to fit paddle wheels. The first tests so far are going quite successfully, I have set my sights on TRAXXAS Paddle Wheels / Paddle Tires & All-Star Black Chrome Wheels 2.8"

You will not regret a 1/8 Buggy or a Nitro Savage!! I have both and they are awesome the savage is a tank. Had it for ten plus years

the only thing stopping me from buying one or the other, or hell both, is the lack of wide open spaces to run them. because of the lower CG and better handling i could probably get away with using an 1/8 buggy. the Savage... id probably destroy property. but i think i'd like the Savage more.

i ordered tires, a receiver pack, and bodies for my TC"s last night. they'll be here Saturday.

alright, my tires and receiver pack showed up. the Integy knock off HPI tires are a little frimer than i was expecting. hopefully that means they last a while, and they were dirt cheap ($6 for 2tires). the Fire brand RC USGT spec tires feel good. looking forward to seeing how thay grip and how long they last.
still trying to get the old tires off the rims. and currently have the receiver pack charging.
and the bodies are supposed to be here later today so i still have that to look forward to.

edit:
bodys are here! scary to, i heard the UPS guy taping the box shut on the truck before dropping it off at my door. it looked like someone had opened it. lucky me it was just 2 bodys and not a whole car.

edit 2:
base cut and mostly mounted. need to find longer front body posts (i think i have some) and do some finish sanding on the wheel arches then i can paint. not sure what im doing paint wise yet. probably going to see what iv got leftover and take it from there.

i wouldn't think one of those would need a fan.
by chance do you know if those rear wheels/tires are the same size as M chassis wheels/tires.

i flew my heli and quadcopter at work yesterday. actually i should say i attempted to fly. crashed the snot out of the heli.

Random question do typical 1.9" TC wheels/tires work on Tamiya M cars?

idk the exact size of M chassis wheels off the top of my head. but i think 1.9" is close to 50mm. and i think M chassis cars use a wheel that's closer to 40mm. tires are usually about 60mm tall. hopefully that at least helps point you in the right direction.

Thank you for responding. I've been thinking about getting an Tamiya M chassis of some kind. I often think that their wheels look too small, so I was wondering if a typical 26 mm touring car wheel / tire combination might be an option.

heck you should have asked that from the get to. i can answer that. i have an M03 chassis. a standard TC wheel will fit and i have run them briefly. it looks weird and you have to clearance the body but it does work. so i do know they work on the first 3 generations of M chassis. i would assume they would "fit" the newer cars as well.

Which M chassis is that in your photo? Also, which RWD version would you recommend for casual use?

my Mini Cooper is an M03 chassis. iv had it sense 1999.
if i were to buy another mini right now (and i have thought about it) id grab one of the M06 kits. the Karman Ghia keeps calling my name (im into air cooled VW's). but i also really like the Alfa. it doesn't really matter, it's just a wheelbase difference and the wheelbase is adjustable.
i think an M06 with a few minor hop ups (bearings and oil shocks) and you've got a solid fun little car.

my only warning to you would be. they aren't fast. they're quick and agile. but not fast. i ran mine with a 20 turn brushed motor and nimh batteries for years and the top speed was maybe 23mph (limited by gearing). i know have a 21.5 brushless motor (with motor timing cranked way up) and a 2s lipo and the top speed is maybe 27mph downhill with a tail wind (again, gearing limited)
i mostly do what i call "driveway autocross" with mine. where i just run it in my driveway. it's a fun little platform and great if you have limited space.

Thanks for the information! I've also notice the M06 platform with the karmann Ghia body on ebay. Seems like a pretty good deal. Looks like you have a great setup there.
