I don't think gyro would be legal in racing, but it depends on your local club rules, I guess!!

hehe nice mate. I got the original tamiya F103 F1 car. Its seen better days but it really flew when it was runnin.

this is it

OMG its naked

i reallu like it but tyres are hard to come by (note the front tyres lol) and it is super fast. I have no engine for it at the moment or a ESC as i think i fried the ones i had in it. I had a 15 turn team orio pilot and a Mtroniks 11 turn ESC

The C11(silver) is a gem of a car. I had the most fun driving that one.

Even though the nice shelf queen body has been bashed pretty hard at the track.. it still looks pretty nice.. so I am setting it up to run a touring car body..

This is F103GT after all, it was meant to run a TC body when it came out initially...

That's the 3Racing body posts and upper (SSG) and lower bracket for the bumper..

The bumper is the Tamiya short bumper for TB-02 (and other touring car, they are all very similar..)

Very nice I like the carbon fiber.
What body have you decided on?
I went home for the weekend and played with the 18t with the gyro (mine came as well)
Its amazing is all i can say. I running it in my 18t, which is 18th scale 4wd car, running 1/10 scale wheels and slammed to the ground. with the gyro I can accelerate and break in a straight line finally, it is amazing, this is the first time I have actually been able to get it up to full speed, it adds a new level of control. I like the fact that you can change gain so easily, you should deff try playing with that. If your buying more shelf bodies I suggest buying a Ferarri , (says that as I look at my 5 foot ferarri flag on one wall and my 6 foot long Ferarri f1 car on the other wall. lol)
Your thread is making me really want another 1/10th scale thats all I can say.
Nick

Post a pic of your gyro setup.. let's take a look!!

No idea what body to run yet.. probably just a bash body.. maybe my old Skyline GT-R body from the TB-02 or the body from my current TC4 FT.. ha ha!!

Yeah, only on my slippery parking lot, though...

It is very quick, obviously... I also dial down the gain to about 60%.. I am about to go out and test it again..

I tried to dial down the punch control but my Sphere is acting up, wouldn't let me go into setup mode.. Argh!!! [:@]

It is pretty darn fast.. (probably due to gearing, LOL, as I just run the stock gearing..) Temperature is so cold now that motor temp is probably not an issue.. I even got a heatsink on it!

Anyway, would really like to try it on the track.. maybe I will go this Friday.. I am taking Friday off.. and my gf is working.. hee hee.. should have both Mamba-ed TC4 and the Neo F103 there..

Although it sucks that my Sphere is acting weird and wouldn't let me dial down the punch control.. wa!!

Here's some pics w/ the Sphere + Neo 1-Star in the F103GT...

Scary fast... (at least in the straight!)

I need to put some fresh X-Pattern Belted tires on the back (as I am running the old set from TB-02) and test it at the track.. should be pretty interesting!!

Gyro gain now set at 60%.. almost no "headshake" now.. but really should test it at the high traction track to see what this thing can do..

Oh yeah, re-program the Sphere ESC to "low traction" mode..

So this thing is all about electronic tuning, I guess.. LOL.. low tractoin / punch control on ESC and gyro assists in countersteering.. LOL.. pretty high-tech, eh?!

This is the Neo 1-Star here..

Tight tight fit!! Uses the thin double sided tape so the Sphere would fit in there!!

I think I need to get a lower profile heatsink..

The body post position fits my Skyline GT-R perfectly.. I think I should touch up some paint on that body and run that as my F103GT bash body!!

Interesting, eh?! RWD touring car..

isn't the skyline a 4wd though?

That's a nice set up there for sure LB. Also nice that you can dial in the ESC like that too.

Yeah, a real GT-R is AWD.. but there are some Skyline that's RWD.. (non-GT-R version)

But yeah, might need to get a 350Z body for the RWD platform just to make it more "correct"..

Yeah, the ESC let you dial the punch control..

I am sure your Novak has similar feature as well...

The advancement of electronics.. LOL!!

I can't wait to run this setup at your track...
