it might work, with the tamiya esc it jus comes down to luck... im runnin a 19t on mine now and its fine, hardly gets hot, so it should be fine but it might be worthwhile to get a better esc that can handle that motor better

this should work perfectly - http://www.horizonhobby.com/Products...ProdID=DYN4925

will a 20 turn motor burn out most ESC ?. Had one go today(ESC) and don't know why its fryed and i had a run away from it ,just kept going till it hit a tree up the end of the drive way. Motor says its a Kyosho G20 single stock motor ,20 turn it gos very fast for that kind of motor on stock gearing. The battery that i was running was a intellect 3000mah and there is no problem with the battery or wire's. ESC says its a ELECTRON change speed 3870 P160A is it a crap ESC or is the motor to much for it (or both)?.

how can you tell a esc is fried?
1. funny smell.
2. forward, reverse does not work.
3. does not response to anything.

if this is not the case check your battery, make sure it is holding a charge.
if none of these is the case, check your antenna wire for rips. let me know

ok, this is what happens when you run a motor above the amperage of a esc, what you ned to do is match the motor you will use with the esc, no matter what brand.
27t motor - stock esc, 23t motor or lower use a esc of 15t esc for best results.

Read back in the thread... The stock Tamiya ESC isn't rated for a 19t motor, let alone anything less. Yes, some folks have successfully run 19t motors on stock Tamiya ESCs, but many, *many* more have roached the ESC that way. I wouldn't put a 15t motor on a stock ESC unless I was trying to destroy it. Do yourself a big favor and get an ESC that's actually rated for the 15t motor. If you don't spend the money on one now, you're damn sure gonna spend it on one before very long.

It won't burn out an ESC that's rated for 20t and lower... I'm not familiar enough with your particular ESC to say what happened, but it sure sounds like it fried. Was your ESC rated for 20t? Did it specify in the documentation? If you got no docs with the ESC, you can usually find them on the web.

Google's not my friend tonight...

I want to find a SmartCar 1/10 body for my TT-01... Shorten the tub and build it up. Just bought the 1:1 car; having an R/C "little brother" would be a hoot.

hey all, i got my tt01 ages ago wich is stock as a rock except for a ball bearing set, alloy centre shaft and wider rims/tyres and have just put in a 3300KV brushless motor and 100amp ESC, running the 58tooth spur and a 23 tooth pinion in d position on motor mount usualy runing 4 cell lipos (14.8volt) because 2 cells just isnt fast enough for me lol so far both front and rear difs have held up fine i just take them apart every month or so to clean and re grease them, the motor and ESC was getting a little warm/hot so i changed the pinion to a 22 tooth and moved the motor to the B position and it ran even hotter?!? shouldnt a smaller pinion make less heat..? i think im going to go back to the 23 pin in the d position. also il take some vids of this car soon too because im sure you all would have a good laugh at it.. i can strap the cam directly to the car :P

Hi SIRCC,

What wt silicone shock oil to use for racing on *****uman ( not sure what you call it in the US ( the black stuff roads are made from)) I will be using the blue springs for the shocks (hard).
Or should I play with it 25wt in the front and 30wt in the back???

Thanks Andy.

If you are drifting hard/med shocks in front med in back

Four 1-Hole Shock Pistons - more resisitance
Four 3 Hole Shock Pistons - less resistance
(2 Hole is in side the Shock) - is medium resisitance
Shock oil (modelers preference)
