I got a Turbo Header muffler for my 150, very nice part. A friend has one on his Saito 125 in a Pitts Special, sounds and runs very well.

I am in the market for a nice adjustable engine test run stand. I figure you guys may have some favorites? Do tell...

PSP makes a nice one, provided you can get them when they have them. Went to pull up their web site, but can't seem to locate it. Valley View RC also has a decent one.

Same here yesterday, I'd like to have a couple of new hold down bars, their site is not to be found. I guess I'll just make them. Mine is approaching 18 years old, the Heli coils in the uprights are still tight and precise. The stainless counter sunk screws and nuts are also. I've run engines from a Super Tigre 4500 to an OS LA .10., all fit nicely. I have an extra set of bars, they are notched for the 125. Thanks guys, I sent Ron Sexton an email. I hope the large one can handle my Moki 180 but that is the largest I want to run on a stand. I'll check out Valley View's offering now.

Looks like the Valley View RC stand is intended for big radial mount engines.

Engine test stands? There are some very nice ones out there, both purchased and diy.
Can't bring myself to buy one though, too easy to piece one together with things around the wood shop.

A 6" square piece of 3/4" ply screwed to anything solid makes a great test stand. In my case it's screwed to the end of a wooden saw horse with deck screws. Screw on the engine mount with drywall screws, rubber band on a fuel tank and away you go. Takes less than 5 minutes to swap mounts. Safely tested over 100 engines on mine ranging from .049 to 55cc. Twins are no problem either, even faster to mount than singles.




Note the notch cut in the ply for 2 stroke exhaust. The throttle handle is cobbled from a scrap piece of steel.

I say chaps Pinky here. I have hijacked Flyer's computer for a bit. After much encouragement from Blackie and myself the plane is ready for a go. Air Marshall SWMBO has confined our ground crew to the barracks until after 2 April 2021 (Two weeks after his second COVID shot) so we will have the maiden then. Perhaps he'll have the covering wrinkles out by then? Here are some photos.

I love the patch! I wonder where I can get one? I lived for a time when I was growing up in Enid, OK home of Vance Air Force base. Vance AFB now days is home to the 71st Flying Training Wing. They have been training pilots there since the 1940s.

Dave, by all means consider making the new clamping bars out of good STEEL material. You can buy square, steel key stock online. Tough stuff and machines cleanly. I can lend you a properly sized, piloted counterbore for the screw holes .

Jinx that is a good example of just how good those awful mopeds can look and especially sound, love the exhaust system. Would probably run the crankcase vent into a catch tank.
Mike pinky looks a lot better ready to go, awesome job good luck on the test fight when it comes, make sure you post it here!!
ps I hope American's can get hold of this covid thing by the throat now for everyone's sake and just in case a health official decides to follow a recommended Chinese testing regime I post this for your perusal...
