Mine has the full cockpit, but there just isn't enough height between the seat and the top of the canopy for the pilot I have. from crotch to top of helmet it is 6", I need 5" to look right. It is a frenchy looking pilot with a white helmet and goofy mustache. Not sure how to describe how it looks, but reminds me of those frilly split mustachioed french from the early days.

That doesn't sound like scale body dimensions at all Todd. I mean, who has an abdomen that is 60% of their body height? 50% is normal for most humans. I'm 6'1" tall and have a 36" inseam. What kind of mutant pilot figure do you have? ![Big Grin](images/smilies/biggrin.gif)

Pretty close to an 82 with an APC 13x8 on 15% nitro. I'd say that 80 is making good numbers.
Still waiting for a direct comparison between the two HC 65's.![Smile](images/smilies/smile.gif)

Should happen today, the 80 though does not have the bumpy piston, it did not have the ignition rattle like my old 15.5 to 1 compression version has. Now I'm in the position of having to run an 82.

There also two different APC 14x6 props, a Sport and a Pattern. The Pattern prop is actually closer to having a 5.5" pitch so it spins faster than the Sport.

Ok, just a quick spin of the early 65 with the early carb.
Early Saito 65 with 12.7 to1 compression
Same fuel
Same plug as the above engine
APC 13 x 6
Max rpm with stock cast muffler=====10,050
Max rpm with home made muffler====10,010
The home made muffler is surprisingly quiet, it sounds mellow like the early baloney mufflers.

The solder joints did not melt.

I may been misleading above, this is the engine I ran today with the muffler shown and the home made muffler I have another almost built but no header pipe yet.

For the vent nipple barb did you use a little piece of 3/16" brass tubing or did you use one of those little barbs they sell for 1/8" fuel tank lines?

Suit yourself, I don't see a darn thing wrong with the first one. If it bothers you to look at the hideous thing just send it my way.![Big Grin](images/smilies/biggrin.gif)
