Hello Everyone,

I am into 1/8th nitro buggy, 1/10 electric and nitro touring and the last electric touring that I purchased as sometime year 2000 which is a Yokomo MR4TC. Yesterday, I stuck a very great deal. Got a completely built rolling chassis of a TT01 never been used and no scratches of whatever, this deal also included a finished Tamiya Ford Focus Rallye body, a Tamiya Nissan Skyline GTR Body (pre-painted and needs to be finished decaled) and an un-painted HPI Lambo 200 mm body. All these bodies includes all decals and accessories that goes with it. You know how much was it ......? It was only 70 Canadian Dollars or 55.11 US Dollars. I was planning to use this car as a rallye car but upon checking of the suspension travel, it doesnt go up or down as much. So, I will just turn this into a drift or tourbashing car.

The first thing I changed and installed last night on this chassis was an HPI adjustable tie rod and steering linkage. Luckily, I have some extra ball ends, ball cups and turnbuckles in my tool box. I wanted to use the RPM heavy duty ball cups but is was a few millimeters long and the car's toe will be -3 for both sides, anyway, I'll see how the HPI ball cups hold on this car.

Next in-line to be installed will be bearings, then oil filled shocks. BTW, what cheap oil filled shock set would you suggest ? GPM, 3Racing, Yeah Racing or the Tamiya CVA Mini shock set ? I am looking at the price though, as I will not be racing this car.

Hi Allen,
I have the 3 Racing, the Yeah Racing and the Tamiya shocks and have used them all on my TT01, for the price and since your not racing the 3Racing to me are the ones especially for the fact that you will be drifting, they are the stiffest out of the box,if you want the most adjustable go with the Tamiya ones

Hey all you TT01 people out there. Quick question. I have a somewhat hopped up TT01D. It came with the "Sport Tuned" motor. I have a 19t Trinity motor sitting in an old TL01 that I don't really use at the moment. How would the 2 motors compare, and would I need to change anything if I put in the Trinity. It's a Chameleon Pro by the way and the car has aluminum drive shaft and cups and dogbones, and steering kit, and a couple of other random aluminum parts that I don't remember what they are technically called right now...

yea, the motor will sit fine in there, just watch out about the heat in it and a metal motor mount would help. I'm not sure what the 'D' has but if its got the alu center shaft, and ball bearings then it should run awesome

Whats good gearing?

I have 2 different motors that I will be using in my TT01.

1. Tamiya Super Stock RZ motor 23T

2. Novak SS5800 brushless motor

I just picked up my car yesterday and wanted to know a general starting pont for gearing with each motor.

Start with the lowest gearing, and go up from there untill you get the speed/torque you want wile still keeping good temps on the motor/esc.

So the Trinity 19t Chameleon pro vs the Sport Tuned Tamiya. Which one is a better motor, or which would work better as a motor for drifting? That's mainly what I am wondering. Which one would perform better?

The 19t would be quicker but the tamiya would prob have more torque for drifting i expect i used to use a checkpiont money 19t for drifting cant recommend it enough well worth the cash [8D]
Make sure your ESC will handle that 19turn too if your using the standard tamiya esc that 19t pro willl stress it out alot,and will keep thermaling the shutoff []

Good to know. Is there a "standard" set up (gearing and esc and motor) that a lot of people use or is it mainly just do whatever?

most people jus stick wit the stock gearing, im runnin the 55t spur right now with the 22p i think, its alright for racing but not great for drifting. Im runnin a yokomo pro stock 2 19t on the stock tamiya esc and it works perfectly fine, however i have the metal motor mount and the alu heatsink
