Welcome to Club SAITO !
"Pays for them" ? The way some folks talk, one would think you'd be paid to take them!

Hi all,
Looking for some ideas on after run oil or oil you use for long term storage.
I have been using Great Planes After Run Engine Oil as well as air tool oil from Home Depot for years but was just wondering what others use and what methods you use to prep for winter storage.
Thanks,
Evan

I feel like I get good service from any motor I personally replaced bearings in. I have not replaced bearings twice in anything I remember.
Hey GaryI have ended up with the Claude and another fine Saito 150.
That' makes three lol
I guess that makes you King of the Hill for Big Dave's excellent aircraft! Old Claude is a real sweetie too. Long live Claude and may he burn many barrels of methanol and cases of Klotz!
Nothing but the best

Lonnie, I have two of the big block fuel inlets ready to send to you. I had three extras, on the third one the needle was difficult to move. It turns out that the little O-ring was as hard as a rock and broke into several pieces when I tried to remove it.

Thanks Dave. The hsn oring on my 180 was dry too but still loosey goosey. Installing a new oring didn't help, still loose. Tried 2 other hs needles with same result, loose. I assume the threading of the fuel inlet is worn, probably caused by using a very long hsn extension wire rod.
Tried using a wrap of Teflon tape to tighten things up which does work but only short term. Once the hsn is turned in and out a few times things loosen up again.
Looking forward to trying a different inlet. You need only to send one. Thanks

Maybe need a bigger house, of your own!
Just kidding of course.
Merry Christmas, see you, and Honorable Mr Claude at the field next spring
I bet that horse of Dave's is a lot cheaper to ship than a jug of factory brewed glow fuel.

Hi Guys,
Looking for a source for these snap on glow plug connectors. I purchased one years ago from a UK site along with an on-board glow driver but the site no longer exists. I have had other types for remote glow connectors as well as other on-board glow drivers but none have worked as well and as easy as the one's in the picture attached.
I came across a photo of a wiring harness for an Evolution radial that had the same snap on plug connectors.
Any ideas if anyone still makes these?
Thanks,
Evan

First time I've seen that style of remote glow connector.
I use these Sullivan ones. Nice positive twist lock system and long enough to get my fingers on.

Those connectors are near the same as those supplied with OS Gemini Twins. The OS version uses sheet metal springs rather than coils.
I use Enya plugs in most remote glow applications and make the needed connector from nickel plated steel battery strap material.
Unscrew terminal
Formed twrminal
Good to go

The one in the photo works perfectly. It snaps on the glow plug post and is just long enough to not short out against the body of the glow plug. Easy on and easy off. The other types I have wrestled with and in a tight space I have broken them.
I have made similar ones using a solid brass rod and drilling it for the glow plug post, screw to hold the wire lead on and set screw to hold it tight to the glow plug post and they worked very well too but I really like this design in the photo.
The company web site was southhertsmodels.co.uk but they are no longer in business.
I assume since they were pictured on the Evolution Radial harness there may be other sources for them.
Thanks,
Evan
I just found one that is close to the photo I posted above. The one I posted above is brass with a steal ball that snaps against the glowplug stem. The spring on the outside is what puts pressure on the steal ball to hold it on the glowplug stem.
This is the one I just found: RCEXL Pipe head Plug Clip Heat Engine Type Plug Clip For Glow System Ignition
It is close but it has a spring inside to grab the glowplug stem. I ordered two so I'll give them a try.
If anyone knows any source for the one above please let me know.
Thanks,
Evan
I'll get a couple of those and check them out. They come from aliexpress.com and are only $3.80 for two.

I use and like these from McDaniel/SonicTronics, it's for you to assemble, one solder joint. https://www.sonictronics.us/glow-plu...er-kit-single/

I hope so Gary. Happy Christmas to all you Saito people. Hopefully more flying for all of us in the coming year. And less Dr Fauchi. Seems science has lost to obstificatiin.. But gravity hasn't changed much when you actually measure it. It still operates in harmony with God's other laws. ( the physics thing) Maybe this will be the year of observable fact and reason. That may lead to peace on earth. We can all use more if that.....

May sneak out for a flight or two today. Tomorrow we are in for some 60 mph winds.

My go to remote glow plug connection was the Hanger 9 (Prolux in Australia) version. It fit easy under cowlings and the leads were a good length.
