This surely must be called beauty on beauty, this a Gary made pipe on my early Saito 80 GK. A quality piece with great looks.

I have a well cleaned 100 here with fresh bearings and a new Saito ring. Looks and runs great. I was going to list it on RCG, let me know if you are interested.
I'll take it, or more correctly, Geri will take it.

My wife will drop the envelope off at the post office this morning. This is an original made in Italy ST needle valve. I do have some of the Harry Higley ones also.

No need to. Just repaying the favor of parts you have sent me

I found all sorts of new Super Tigre parts in a box I had on the shelf. It is amazing how much stuff I have collected over the years.

I made one of those for each size Saito engine block, I can actually screw them down with sheet metal screws if desired.

Some of them are getting the aged look.

Quick question, how far do you have to tear down a Saito so you can paint it? I would want to paint just the block and jug.

I empty the block, remove the cam and lifters and remove the valves and springs, on the big blocks I also remove the rocker mounts. On most I give them a low temperature antifreeze bath for a few hours. Even low is pretty hot though. Any loose paint will come right off.

Same here but not in the mid 70s!
Long live Ronson Lighter Fluid!

Yes, certain Wives Tales not withstanding, glow engines do indeed reliably throttle up briskly and idle down completely. A dozen flights and it was worth every ounce of fuel it took.
The club is holding a New Years RC meet tomorrow as well.

Happy New Year!

Jim

Now you ask!
Last week we took a box of old two strokes up to the farm. Hung them from strings a couple a couple hundred yards out in the field. We were using them as targets for our new Ruger Mini-14 (.223) There were some of those bigger Super Tigres in the batch that actually looked pretty good. I am heading up there tomorrow to put a new clutch in the old Ford Jubilee and will see if a 90 cylinder survived. Stay tuned, my brother in-law did most of the shooting and he only has one eye!

a guy at the field gave me this ST 90 some 11 years ago and it was frozen up when I got it.
that field must have a lot of aluminum in it.

The way he shoots, more lead than aluminum.
Think glow fuel is pricey? He chucked thru 200 rounds of match grade .223. Left the cheapo bulk stuff un touched. Playing Rapid Fire Rambo!
Let you know tomorrow if your luck was better than his aim.

This unusual plug came in the above mentioned Como 40, the plug appears to have never been exposed to combustion. It works also.

Dave,
That Como came out of a veteran Quickie 500 racer that went virtually undefeated for two seasons at our club. It came to you just as it was when stored about 25 years ago.
Hope all the castor didn't screw anything up
