Yeah, but the knowledge that 33.3% of the blades are missing would drive you nuts.
I'm going to be in Lake of the Ozarks, Mo. fishun until the 9th, you fellers behave.

Jim, I just used an old beat up saw horse with a piece of 3/4 ply mounted vertically to the end of it. I mounted whatever engine mount I had to fit the engine to the ply with drywall screws. Worked great as a portable test stand for years.
Eventually I got lucky on RCU classies and found a PSP test stand for $80 shipped. Works fine for engines up to 35cc.

I have a real old Test stand, it will fit up to a 60 2st, so I guess you could put an OS 91 2st on it. but a Saito 100 wont fit on it, I could mill the slots a bit to fit the 100. it looks strong enough. but I was hoping to find something new. I find it highly annoying, stupid and unacceptable that Towers/Horizon don't carry one for sales. I am going to try to find the one I talked about yesterday inside the USA.

I have a mount I got from Mecoa. I know it will fit a Saito 120. I think it would fit a larger engine than that. I built a stand from scrap lumber I had around. The stand has a wide foot print so it wont tip over. Before that I used a Back&Decker workmate. I ran a YS on it and had to hold it from tipping over, so I built this stand. My stand is coated with spar urethane and that stuff is very fuel proof.
BTW…in the pic is the 120 I got from Gary.

thanks guys!! I was looking at MECOA stands the other day. after seeing what is available. I will have to buy the larger one because it uses 4 bolts/screws to hold it down.
if you want to see the one I have click my link. it's an old Jtec. see the photo at the top of the gage, I have the same one that is on the right side of the pic. if you scroll down you can see an updated version of it.
check my 2nd link to see stands on Google Images. Google Images is the cat's meow, or tail depending how you are looking at it.

PS, a little story. my daughter called on the video phone to have my grand babies say goodnight. the youngest 2.6 y.o. was in a bad way, she was over tired and she was not talking to me, she was setting up on the bed slumped over a bit. she would not talk. I asked a few questions and she still had that look on her face.. I knew what to say. I asked if she had a Hotdog for lunch at school. well I tell you, I hit it big-big-big time. she sat right up and gave me the biggest smile and she said "I had a Hotdog and Berrys for lunch today". both her hands and arms went up over her head like Rocky winning the championship. boy that made my day!!

I have one of those too. I use the workmate, but I have an 80 pound battery case from a UPS that I use to anchor it. Will take a really BIG engine and prop to pull it over. I built a board to mount the PSP, along with a place for a battery and ignition stuff. It clamps into the workmate and keeps most of the oil off the workmate.

hy guys, I hope things are going well for you all!
if you guys remember I am putting a 40 size ShoeString cowl on a 60 size ShoeString. all that is left is to cut up some foam and make some Airducts. but my my, look at the photos of the size of it's Cold Air Intake, it's only 1"&3/8" X 7/8".
I had someone "big" in the hobby. a manufacturer (I rather not say names). tell me that the Air Intake Inlet size does not matter as long as the Air Exit is 3 times or more larger. but it seams to me that this Intake is a bit small for a 70 size 2st.
to add, this engine is a Heli engine so it has a larger carb and should be turning somewhere around 13-Grand with an APC 11x9.
so, I thought I would get some comments on the size of the Intake from you guys that have had more airtime than me before I start enlarging said Intake.
LOL I know I know. I should be mounting a Saito in it, but this engine is a bolt in fit and it fits inside the 40 size cowl, and it's never been run, and I paid only $115 for it shipped to my door. .
thanks guys!

Sure thing, I can hardly wait
No fooling, I would give you a AAA-plus rating any day.
Based on 100% first hand satisfaction.
The generally excepted rule when going from a 2 blade to 3 blade prop is to reduce the diameter by 1" and keep the pitch the same. Alternatively you can keep the diameter the same and reduce pitch by 2".
A healthy FA82 will spin a Master Airscew 14x6 or 13x8 at right around 9100 rpm on 15% nitro. The P-39 needs pretty good speed to fly scale so a 3 blade 12x8 is where I would start with that engine. Expect longer takeoff rollouts than with a 2 blader.

Probably not. I fly most all of my .46 to 1.20 size warbirds with 8" or 10" pitch props and see no difference in landing speed between those props or a 6" pitch prop. The engine rpm needed for proper landing speed changes but not the actual speed of the landing. Saitos idle plenty slow enough to land a 10" pitch prop on warbirds.

Larger discs generally provide better braking effect, hence a shorter rollout after touchdown. It is often quite noticeable on our hard surface runway.

Actually the take off portion is usually called "roll"

well, my smelly WM 50 size, 57" span P-40 is ready for flight, all it needs is a new spinner. I had to change the Aileron servo arms. the Ailerons only need 6mm of travel. and with the longer servo arms the TX rates were set so low the Resolution was very low. I hated the way it felt on the stick. servos are Hitec and I ended up using the Red arms and used the closest hole to the screw (10mm). this brought the linkage into the screw 4mm. and that allowed me to rase each Dual Rate 40% on the dial. now my ATV/Servo End Points is set at 115, and the Dual Rates are at H110 M85 L70. I also rebalanced it. I don't know why but I found the left wing was light, I had to add 1/2oz there and a 1/4oz on the tail. last time I flew it there was no weight on the tail. if it doesn't fly better I will put another 1/4oz on the tail. if it doesn't fly better I just may put it on the wall for static fun. and tell shameful stories about it.
to add. the last time it flew the Aileron travel was set at 10mm. the guy that wrote the online review said to set them at 6mm. he also said the guy from World Models said the same. if I did lower the Dual Rates to get the 6mm travel "without the shorter Red servo arms" my Dual Rates would be down around 40 25 10.
BTW, there is a guy on UT with the same plane, he has a Magnum 91 4st in it. it must be a monster. LOL if it's still flying LOL.

hey.
you guys are slacking, no one replied to me about enlarging the cooling-inlet for my ShoeString, it looks to me like it needs enlarging?
