Thanks for the comments, I was beginning to think my time posting was wasted again!
One person can make it all worthwhile.
Al was a great friend who had long endured. We had lunch together with a couple other old-timers a few days before he passed. Years ago I had helped him restore his 1958 Austin Mini. It brought the family a good bit at the estate sale
His period style, hot rodded 1953 Plymouth Coupe also did well.

That Chinese Senior looks good. Probably the same folks who made Sig's ARF for them.
Looks like a set of Dubro wheels there.
So, for all intents you do have a Kadet Sr. Just a brother from a different mother.

Thanks again.

We all need a friend or friends in this life Jesse . Al sounds like a good man and I hope he had a good life and lived it to the full. Yes your spot on Jesse about the Dubro wheels. When I bought the plane over ten years ago I changed the wheels as they were very small and made of foam. I have Dubro wheels on most of my planes as I like them. As far as I know Sig planes are made now in either China or Vietnam, some of the two. I bought a new Great Planes Avistar recently and it has made in China written on the side of the box. Before I bought the World Models Super Frontier Senior, it was a Sig Kadet Senior I really wanted, but here where I live it wasn't possible. But it was possible to buy the Super Frontier Senior from Steve Webb Models as they were the sole distributor for World Models in the UK. I'm glad I did as that plane is now discontinued. I liked everything about the plane except the covering. They use a very thin covering called Toughlon and over the years it started to delaminate, the wing covering itself is ok. So two weeks ago I decided to strip off the covering which was fairly easy done and last week I recovered the entire fuselage in white Oracover which is Ultracote in the USA. I'm happy with the results and I put two fine stripes up both sides just to finish it off. In the factory in China they had sprayed the plastic window panels with blue paint, so I took that all off with some acetone and now you can see the pilot figure. Looking forward now Jesse to taking it down to the field for a few flights. The Saito 72 really helps the plane in everyway and for more than ten years that engine never misses a beat. The plane is so relaxing to fly and you will love flying your Kadet Senior. Kind regards Aidan

Hi Dave, it's a Saito 72 and it's the same engine I'm running on that plane for 13 years. It never fails to start and idles beautifully. Cheers Aidan

Looks great in white. All the Seniors that I built and covered were based on white.

The first Senior here was one of the first batch shipped from Sig. I had that one longest. Built three channel, tail dragger it was white and orange. You could see it a mile away.

Much later on came a Kadet Senior bashed to look more LT-40. Ailerons/flaperon and 1" dihedral.

Here is a pic of the Kadet Senior, Sport.
Saito FA-82 powered, APC 13-8 prop, Saito 100 muffler.
New cowl not yet fitted.

Nice looking Kadet Senior Sport there Jesse. I like the Saito 82 side mounted and the tail dragger configuration. I also like the beautiful transparent red covering on the plane. All in all a really sharp looking model.

Default Saito 270T Engine Manual and Exhaust Nuts

Does anyone know where I can get a PDF version of the Saito 270T engine? I have the engine and am looking for the manual for reference and I also need a pair of exhaust nuts for this engine, if anyone has those.

funny you say that, cause the other day I was thinking to say pretty much the same about the Saito 82. I say this about the 82 because the FX100 weigh the same (550g, less mufflers) as the/my old OS 61fx, and knowing that the Saito 82 must have the same or more power, yet weigh less than the OS 61fx.
yes yes any opportunity in time to bash my old, overpriced, under powered OS 61fx is a good point in time.

ooP, Edit,
Weighs,
the heavy dog OS61fx,,, 550g
Saito 82,, 472b

"A" ...versatile engine, not neccessarily the most versatile. Offered as a compliment and encouragement to the OP.

I have often replaced Saito FA-82 engines with FA-72 engines and suffered no regrets.

I ran across an image of an earlier version of the Bristol, I liked the grill and prop driver and I'll comment on my fuel tank choice. The .125" dowels for the grill are coming tomorrow from the almost everything comes tomorrow place.

Earlier Bristol

The olive drab washer will be the front of the more authentic looking prop hub, both tanks are 8oz. even though the Dubro,on the left is slightly taller and longer. The fuel line attachments line up perfectly with the hole in the firewall. The Sullivan's fuel line attachments are well above the firewall hole, they would have to bend sharply go to the engine compartment. Normally I'm a Sullivan guy all the way but not this time.

On the last page of the instructions for the 270 that Dave posted it shows a little tube in the fuel line connected to the vent. I have a couple of those that came with 120 engines. Why would I want to use that? When I had a 270 I never used it.

Are you talking about the inline check valve between the case vent and muffler?

Thanks, Jim. It would fly the SS and sound great doing it. The FA-115 I got for it should fly it with incredible authority.
