I had very little rc time today, Geri's Pneumonia has left her washed out and listless. I took her to the Dr. Then had to wait for a prescription be ready, day shot. I didn't like that black prop nut sticking out there sort of by itself. (On the Spad)
I took a Tru-Turn .25" x 28 spinner adapter, cut the cone down to match a Saito prop lock nut, me thinks it looks better.

I like this prop better. It's a Xoar 12x5.
A look from the front with the rudder covered. The red and blue are Oracover, the Pearl white is ?

Yes sir, I receive that too but they were only 4" long and the rudder is 7" tall. I have 5" roundels for the wings and 2.5" for the fuse. If I can I'm going to cover the fuse this PM.

You should have told Callie she would have corrected the size and sent you a set.

I may do that, that is the third rudder I made for it, I have .25" balsa that is super light and yet not soft. The problem was that where the colors overlapped over an open space, the edges would curl back.
I am studying instrument panels this Spitfire panel is a pick and choose, roll your own I can customize to suit, I think. 15 bucks at Callie's.

Hey Dave. what are you doing to do for wings? are you going to make corrugated plastic wings or use old wings off an older plane or make new ones with Balsa?

Thanks Jim, I already built them, they're part of the kit. The ailerons are bottom wing only.

The covering is Oratex from Balsa USA.
3.5 to 4 lbs.
Not much is covered yet, it is going to be Olive drab.
It will match the grill. Some of the covered pieces are laying at the rear of the fuse.

The Spad covering is being changed to Oratex, it's so easy to work with. Corners are not hateful. I just finished stripping the elevator. The fabric looks so much better, me thinks.

No sir, I discovered in doing research that there are many shades of "Olive Drab", that little bottle in the back left has a four digit number for t's shade. I kinda like that contrast between the OD covering and the more grey like OD around the grill. The grill is painted from a small 4 oz.rattle can. I don't think I'd want a Saito in either color. I may be able to fly this thing in a War Bird event.
