New to the Viper
Hello, I am new to turbine jets and just acquired a Harlock Viper 250 which I understand is the same as the Zeal and Carf Viper. That being said, are there and hints or tips you guys can share. I also have a few questions:
1. Has anyone used an alternate method to mount the satibilizers. With drilling through the stabilizers in the support rod, wont the carbon rod crack?
2. How is the rudder mounted to the fuse itself? The same as the stabs? It seems like the front of the rudder would be loos and unsupported.
3. The fuel tank only has one nipple. How is the tank vented?
4. What size uat and smoke tank smoke tank is recommented?
5. What else is needed for smoke to work?
6. Do you guys hard mounting your servos or use the rubber grommets?
7. My kit only comes with a tank and single nipple fuel cap. Can someone recommend a klunk kit for the fuel tank?
8. How is the tail cone attached?
9. What supports the rear tail cone?
10. The is a bell mouth and a half carbon bypass. Which is the preferred method.
11. How big is the fuel tank?
thanks in advance.

My builder has just started with the build of my new Viper and he encountered a problem with the front landing gear.
I purchased the Electron Landing gear instead of the old air system, and the front landing gear doesn't seem to fit in the fuselage. I guess the new design is longer than the original one and that's why we are seeing a problem. Have anybody else encountered this issue ? Is OK to just go ahead and modify the fuselage in order for the landing gear to fit ? I was told by my builder that he also had to do some work internally (sanding a piece of wood that is installed inside).

Thanks Paul.... that's what we were planning to do. Still seems strange that this would happen on a CARF plane.
I have also asked my local CARF representative to ask the factory if this is normal with the Electron Landing Gear just to be on the safe side.

Yes, it will take a little while to filter out all the kits that were still being made for the original air gear. All Electron equipped Vipers here are adjusted as Paul said

Doing my viper landing gear front door .
I have been looking on here for any photos of hinge ideas all I can see is a long hinge type used .
Has anyone got photos of there hinge setup?
I have electon retracts .
What smoke tanks are being used ?
I was supplied a rookie round tank but it has to be cut down for what I understand ?
Photos of setups would be great help .

Flap problem
Does any one have some pictures of the horn position on the flap off the Viper Jet. Just got mine at jetpower, but mine is set to deep Into the flap, talked to carf About it, great service, no problem there. Just want to be sure to get the correct length and position when I fix them..Also how much flap do you use for takeoff and landing?

Yours is the Pioneer scheme kit we got out of the truck?
You want the linkage position as far forward as possible so when at landing flap (about 75-80 degrees) the linkage is just below the top skin.
Take off flap around 30mm is about right. Ignore the C of G jig and move the balance back, Stefan Volker's prefered set up is quite nose heavy, I move it 12mm back from his rear place, minimum!
