how good are TA05 for racing? i am a off road guy so i know nothin bout on road cars but i was thinkin bout buyin the TA05

Hi Duncan. Iam new to this game myself, I have read a lot about the TA05 and it seems very competitive in the right hands. I bought mine secondhand and it's all blinged up with anodised parts on, I have not run it yet just getting round to putting motor & ESC in. Cheers Ray.

I got my TA05 this week and need to ask ;

1. When I look for wheels and tires which measurements do I need to follow?

2. Some wheels I've seen online mention "offset 6mmor 4mm" does this mean they stand out wider regardless to tire size?

3. Are most tire widths the same and do I need to match the wheel width to the tire width ?

4. I have a 10kg MG946R TowerPro servo spare at the moment will this do? What is an ideal servo for these cars?
My previous RC experience is all off-road so I'm pretty green on this build ...

Hi. Iam new to this game myself. I buy 1/10 scale wheels & tyres already with tyres glued on, 12mm hex fitting. 10Kg servo will be ok.What they mean by offset have not got a clue.? You'll have to ask someone with more experience, Best Regards Ray.

offset means how deep the inside of the rim is. its hard to explain so look at these too pictures closely on the inside of the rims. i dont think it affects the width of the rim though

Offset is generally measured from the back of the rim to the mounting area. Take a ruler(or something else that will lay flat) and lay it flat across the back of the rim, then measure the distance from that to the mounting area and there is your offset. This will determine to an extent how far the wheel/tire combo will stick outside the fender area. Obviously body width and tire width will play a part as well. To much/little offset and the wheel may not fit. For instance, the 28mm wheels I had on my car had weren't offset correctly and the rim had too small of an inside diameter, the result was the rim rubbing the ball link through on the front during cornering.

Hey i just got a TA05. The upgrades i have on her is trf shocks and alluminum rear diff cups in the rear. Is there any upgrades i can do to the TA05 to make it more competitive but, not break the bank? Also, what gearing should i run? I want to run 64p spurs. The highest pinion i have is a 35t. If i want more speed do i get a bigger or smaller spur? I am going to run the rubber class with a peak racing 19 turn motor and a Novak TC ESC. Thanks. Tekno.

Hey guys. Im in the process of building the TA-05 IFS kit and have come across a problem with my servo being too big to fit in it's place on the chassis. The servo i have chose is a Hitec 311 which i believe is standard size for most servos. So my question is if i will have to trim some of the plastic off the servo ears in order to make it fit, or is there another way to solve this issue. Thanks as always guys.

well my ta-05 was received yesterday.
starting building it last nite.... sure love building cars!!!
having never built anything more than a FF-01 and a couple TL-01's, the TA-05 is a bit more difficult.
anyhow lots of fun!

ordered my first round of xtras this AM...
cant find a carbon chassis anywhere so im stuck w/ the base at the moment.
but i did grab some 3racing shocks and front and rear aluminum bulkheads...


too pricy to deck the car out at once... this will be a long term project!!
any suggests on the next round of parts?

ok guys im a noob and i dont really understand what pinion gear to buy for my ta05 ifs-r. the stock spur gear is 105t i think, i want to buy the 5700k mamba max system, and i have a 3600 6c battery. which pinions should i buy?

edit: also what is the "Front/Rear Differential Gear Ratio" and "Transmission Gear Ratio" of my car?

Hey Fellas,

I just finished building my TA05 IFS, installed the stock silver can and an old XL5 (ex stampede) ESC. I was looking to start in the 540 class at my local club, but was so disappointed with the 540 can I legged it down the LHS and bought a LRP Sphere TC comp spec esc, LRP Vector 17.5 stock brushless motor and 54002S lipo I also got a new 69T 48P spur gear. the problem I have is this: how do I solder the esc to the motor as you can see on some of the pics the solder tabs have small holes in them and I wasn't sure if you stick the wires through these holes when soldering (I just wanna make sure I do this right)

Also when connecting the lipo to the esc, can I just solder on two corally plugs on the end of the esc wires and plug them dirctly into the lipo, or must I go esc-wire-deans-deans-wire-corally-batt (if that makes sense to you )

does the mamba max esc fit in the ta05, I just got the arta nsx kit and its a pretty nice kit, really good quality, just need esc,servo,radio and such, suggestions on what to get would be cool, and also what wheel offset would I need to run 200mm bodies[sm=thumbup.gif] thanks this site rocks.

i've seen at sum forums that it doesn't fit but i bought it anyways online today and i guess ill have to modify the chassis

idk about the wheel offset, but i dont think it makes a huge difference

oh and yeah... this site definitely rocks good luck with everything!

I was looking at getting a TA-05 IFS, but was not sure if it would accept my existing lipos.

My packs measure 137mm long, 44.2mm wide and 26.6mm thick.

Would these fit without any mods?

i got a question about dose anyone know were to find setup sheets for the 05? or dose anyone here have a setup sheet of there car?
im got a 19T spec motor and rubber tires gona be practicein on a decent grip carpet track just wondering if anyone here can give me a decent starting setup?
