j-micheal thanks for the caluclator, I just went ahead and bought the esky 3800kv and a 10t pinion for now, untill I get a feel for the 450 size heli, then eventually when I have more money upgrade it to a scorpion, I already had the 30amp esc, and the other motors I was looking at where pulling 30 or more amps, and I don't have enough money for a new esc as well.

I just installed the last servo and finished checking and loctiting all the screws, now pretty much, I am waiting for the radio, gyro, and motor to come in the mail.

also thanks jpee, seems like a good deal, just can afford one right now, soon though hopefully

My brain is shot from all the studying I did today for college, to much info, I feel like im going to school to be an attorney lol

Glenn,

I flew at my usual baseball park. It was 33 degrees, so no one was there which was great. But my hands were freezing in between my other two fights with it. There was hardly any wind, so I couldn't pass up the opportunity. It is supposed to be warmer on Tuesday and Wednesday, so I hope the wind is calm.

The Hobbyzone super cub is so easy to land when you know what to expect. All you have to do is shut the motor off and give a little up elevator and it will practically land by its self.

Jeff,

Hope you get over your cold soon. I am just getting over mine.

JPEE,

I did land with the flaps, but the plane was already really slow when I was landing, so the flaps didn't make much of a difference in slowing it down more.

Heli,

Looks good so far! I didn't realize you had the landing gear on now as well...

How's the loctiting and tail bearings going?

Heli,

Sweet! Now, that's what we need to hear, is some enthusiasm!!

It will fly as good as it looks, but maybe not the first flight, or two, or three...it's going to take some dialing in, and adjustments, no doubt about it....

But, when it all comes together, and it's flying well, it will be very, very rewarding!!

Then, you will be hooked, and won't want any more small helis...lol....well, maybe one here and there...I've been guilty of that....and maybe again if I can't resist this stupid CPP2...LOL[X(]

Anyways, it's lookin' GREAT!!

Hey Heli,

I hope that is not a glass of beer in the background of this picture LOL. I'd hate to think your tipping the bottle while building the new Heli and consuming apple juice that is LOL
The heli looks great

Glenn,

At my fun fly I got to help the person who bought my Belt CP. By the end of the night he was able to hover it, which was cool. The fun fly also lasted a hour this time, so it was nice to fly longer. There was also a couple more heli people, so that was cool.

Hey guys I'm way behind

Heli nice job on the progress with the exi 450 it looks killer

Everyone

Well I put the cx2 up for sale today at the lhs to get money for some servos for the b400 and a lipo for my new truck
I guess I'm gonna end up going with the hs65mg's because I can't afford the jr's anymore and these will work just fine I guess but there analogue not digital which kinda sucks and I'm gonna have to trim the frame a little bit to get them to fit but oh well atleast I can get it back in the air huh?

Evan,

Yeah, we wrote a book while you were gone...[X(]

Sounds like a plan, hope you can get a good amount for the CX2...

Lots of guys use the HS 65's, and like them, you should be fine...and they are metal gear, that is the most important thing...I don't think the frame work to make them fit is a big deal, never done it though, so I don't want to say, I think most guys just use a dremel..

Yeah, the main thing is to get the B400 back in the air, and the battery for the new truck will be cool too..

The Hi Tec servos will be fine, don't sweat it...still 10x better than the stock servos...

Evan,

Hitec's Analog servos center pretty good unlike cheaper servos of other brands. My Hitec HS-45's almost center as good as my DS285's and HS5065's

Evan,

Yeah, if you sent the stock servos back now, it would buy you some time...but I think the analog HS's will be fine...it's up to you...

Like Nick said, my HS-45's have been just fine, no issues at all...they have been great so far...

Evan,

The digital version of the HS65MG's have been out for awhile and are the HS5065's. I have had them on my 450 for a couple of months and they work great.

Evan ~

The HS-65mg's will work fine for ya... I think JPEE has them in 2 of his B-400's. I'am using them right now in my Trex and I can hardly tell the diff between those and the JR-DS285mg's. Like Nick said they center great, and don't draw as much as the digital ones do. The 65's are heavier and have more torque, but are a little slower but not by much. You'll really like them...

I thought the HS-5065's are the digital replacement for the HS-65mg's but I may be wrong... Nick has them in his V2 Rex...

Nick,

Did you go to the fun fly tonight, or was that last weekend?

Any more flights on the Cub? That sounds like a fun plane, and it's a plus if it's easy (relatively) to land too...glad you finally got to fly it...

Evan,

Yes as Jeff said I have two 400s with the Hitec 65MGs and I love them. I have plowed up the neighborhood Park with them several times infact and never lost one yet!
Let me know if you and info on opening the cyclic servos are in frame.

No I didn't get any more flights today other than the 3 I got this afternoon on the Cub. I should have bought the main parts seperate and used good electronics from the start, but it was another one of my impulse buys. Since it was my first plane it was new territory for me, so I don't feel so bad for getting the RTF version.

Just thought I'd share that with you guys....
