I don't really know how much cash I'm willing to spend on a radio, I guess I'll need to think a little more on that. I'm gonna use it for my BL TT01E I'm building now over the winter so I'll have some time to think still

Thanks for the recommendations, I'm going to look them over

rcmart has the DX3S with two rx at 229 dollars. Is that something you guys would recommend?
What is the third channel for, the telemetry stuff?

Thanks

I race with mine in a stock TT01 class at my club.Ialso race an M03 in a stock class. I can't afford a touring car at the moment so these too cars keep me busy for little money.

I purchased my dx3s from rcmart early summer and had no issues with them or the transmitter. I do prefer my Futaba 4PK over the spektrum though but for the price, dx3s is fine. The kit will come with one regular receiver and one for the telemetry (headache more than anything imo).

Has anyone used the F201 52T spur, if so how did you get it to fit without rubbing the chassis?

No winterpeg here yet! We ran about 5 nitro tanks this afternoon in my truggy

I just picked up a AE 12R5.1 carpet racer for the winter.. there is going to be about 12 of us this winter havin some indoor fun! Can't wait.

On top of that, I'll pull out my Savage XL on the warmer winter days. Winter is 4-6 months here! Got no choice

Thanks! 2hours on decals alone [X(]

Yes I totally agree on the body mount, especially the front one. I may try work on that. The rear will drop some more if I want.

It's the EZRun 5.5T, still working on tweaking the program but so far all it needed was the alum. shaft upgrade as the plastic wants to twist up when I run the foams on it. I have it here, just need to swap it out.

Hey all! Long time 1/24 car modeller here. Finally broke down and bought an RC. I got the TT-01 Monte Carlo '07 with ESC and LEDs included. Bought it from my LHS so paid a bit much for it, $150. Also Ebayed Full BB, Alu. Shaft and Bells , Heat Sink, CVAs, Carbon Upper deck, Alum. Motor Mount, 22t/58t gearing, and Front/Rear Stabilizers. Ill be completely honest here. I hated RC for along time because it is killing 1:24 modelling. But I have been lurking here for a while and got hooked. I was going to get a DF-03ra but got impatient and got the TT-01 instead. So far im building the shocks and got the Body painted. Still need to decal it. Im excited about the RC but so far I have no electronics. I bought a crap Radio Shack 2000 7.2 battery and charger of ebay for pennies just to do some logistics but I need a controller/transmitter/servo. Any cheap suggestions? Also, what is a third channel for? Do I even need it?

Thanks in advance,
Freakmech

Pics soon!

The third channel on the receiver is I believe auxillary. I race and drift with my tt-01. If I am racing I plug the transponder into the auxillary slot on the receiver. Its basically a power slot and if you wanted to run fans for cooling on your motors. I am looking forward to pics.

STOCK! seriously, oil filled will just get messed up. 60 mm are best , to get that extra lift for off road though. dinball/rc mart has 2 sets of 55 or 60mm oil filled shocks for $20 right now though....

I'm using a ttu-03 tx and a tru-02 rx with my tt-01d and it has really bad range, like 20 meters max, sometimes it drops to less than 5 meters like today, my car just went full throttle and slammed right into the wall and i had no control. This is the second time its happened. I'm using duracell nimh with 2650mah capacity each in the tx and i've tried using new alkalines but they all give me really low range. I've seen people drive so far away in youtube videos and I'm scared to drive even 10 meters away now. You guys know how to fix it?

I am going to assume your using AM or FM crystals. My first bet would be to upgrade to 2.4ghz but if you cannot do that then i would get a different crystal set. Sounds like either someone is on your frequency or your getting alot of interference in you area.

Hey guys, so I thought I'd have a go at drifting. I'm using some plastic piping from a hardware store, a lot cheaper than buying RC drift tyres. Here's a vid, enjoy!

Just solved my problem with advice listed in another thread!! My car is RTR and tamiya ran the receiver antenna right next to the motor and esc. The receiver box was also right next to the esc. I moved it away from the esc and kept the receiver antenna as far away from the motor and esc as possible. Now I have range of around 100m

Today I got my new chassis, HPI X-Pattern tyres, orange spray paint and some other stuff I felt I needed for my car
I'm not sure I'm going to replace the chassis yet, thinking about waiting until I can afford to order the other upgrade parts I need before I do anything more. However I'm planning on painting the body.

Do you guys suggest having clear or black windows on an orange body? If I'm going to paint them black, I'm not really sure how to do it, so clear would be easiest :P

Why don't you use translucent paint? Tamiya make some.

Well that's a good thought! I'll check that possibility out.

Meanwhile, the orange was a bit too much on the yellow side, but gonna try some more layers. Using PET bottles to paint to try first

For you guys living in Europe, there is a series called the Euro Touring Series. One of the classes they run is the "Hobby Class" which includes the TT01, E10, & LRP Maverick Strada. I've listed the rules below. What is cool about this is the last thing on the list. If you don't have the brushless system and/or lipo you can borrow fro the weekend one from the organization running the race. I wish this existed in the U.S.
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: 'Lucida Grande', 'Lucida Sans Unicode', Verdana, sans-serif; "><h2 style="margin-top: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-bottom: 10px; margin-left: 0px; padding-top: 0px; padding-right: 0px; padding-bottom: 0px; padding-left: 0px; font: normal normal normal 1em/normal 'Lucida Grande', 'Lucida Sans Unicode', Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: 25px; font-weight: normal; ">Hobby Class</h2><p style="margin-top: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 0px; padding-top: 0px; padding-right: 5px; padding-bottom: 0px; padding-left: 5px; font: normal normal normal 1em/normal 'Lucida Grande', 'Lucida Sans Unicode', Verdana, sans-serif; color: rgb(0, 0, 0); line-height: 1.5em; ">ETS races will integrate a Hobby-class for all events around Europe, starting with season 2009/2010.
