the situation will always arise where you do not want the speed break deployed with full flaps, it's just the nature of how things work.

Well it is finished........
Very happy with the finished model.
I had enough channels using a JR 9503. This includes opening canopy and dorsol brake on it's own channel.
I been flying Jetcats for years and was very happy. Thought I would try a New Kingtech 140-G this time.
My weight was around 26# dry.
Just waiting for the snow to get gone and it will be maidened

RE: Fly Eagle F-15 (1/9) Building Thread
Good Morning Taman......
A company here in the states made the whole cockpit for me.
All I had to do was tell them what model and scale of the jet.
I had to fit it in the cockpit area but it came out nice.
Here is their website [email protected]
Take care

Thank you for the information, I was trying to read all the post on here before I finish with the install. I will measure it out and see what is possible and try and move all my batts to the rear. I have to have a rethink on it again.... Wish I had brought a bigger scale than this one, as there is not a lot of room in the cockpit area, with the scale retracts and pilot. Any one else that has flown one and can give any more advice on the setup, please come forward.....

i maiden mine a few weeks ago at 170mm but it was a very unstable (for a lack of a better word) flight. I had to fly with gear down. I going to bring the cg back to 180 on the next flight and fix some other bugs. I will let you know.

Thanks for your info too.... Keep me posted, as I will not fly this for a few months now, due to the corn turning and a greater fire risk.
Plus I have a lot more work to do on it now, having read all this information on here. It has been very helpful and so glad I did a little reading.
I brought this airframe from someone, it was unflown and I thought I was getting a bargin, until I looked into it a bit, wrong servos, leaking 5 function valves (both of them, they are the version 1 of flyeagle jets) Might change the one that has a little leak on it when the canopy it up, when it is down it doesn`t leak. Many problems with the fuel tanks, plus test fitting everything, time and time again. What a headache this has turned out to be hehe

I had almost no issues with assembly. I was just use to large jets and i felt cramp working in the jet and trying to find spots for everything. I had one cylinder leak and it was replaced. Still have one leak in that replacement cylinder. I had 8411 in the elevators and i was told to change to hitec 7955 which i will do this week, by Binson who maiden the plane. Hopefully we can get another flight next week. I will keep you updated.

Hey guys I have been reading this thread for some time now, and I just put a depost on an older Fly Eagle F-15 1/9. It was really hard deshion as I have read so many bad things about FEJ on this site, but I just love the Tiger skeem on the F15.
As with almost every modle out there there are usaly a small list of items one must pay extra close attion to when building an ARF.
Could you guys help me make a small check list of what times on this bird that will need a little more attion?
From my reading thus far:
1: most of the gear door cyclinders leak, Mod or replace.
2: The plastic hinges are brittle, replace.
3: Put some shims on the rear retracts to angle them out some to help with ground handleing.
4: Make sure the nose steering is tight
5: Do not over invate the air fill tires, some fell they just need replaced?
6: HS 7955 on the elvators.
What eles you got?
Any major structual issues?
Has anyone found a good tuch up paint that kinds of maches the bright tigher melt skeem?
THanks MIke

Well the F15 is all ready to go now, I am just waiting for the corn to be cut at the airfield and then it is jet time again hehe
Too many jet to test fly now, so what is the best CofG to start with? I have not check it yet, but need to know so I can fix it the batteries ready
I have do what other have said and move most things back, batteries are in the rear section and can be moved back more if required.
Cheers

I have the UP 3 valve on the retract and doors, and one for the 5 way valves on the canopy and brakes, if I had to do it again I would have probably done it with electric valves and used the sequencer in my radio. I have had to change a few air cylinders though, as there were leaks in them, gave a right headache for about two days trying to find the leak.
Mine has still not flown yet...ever, I brought it second hand unflown, had to do a lot of changes to the install that someone else did.... no I am happy with it, just need to do the CofG and then test fly it in a few weeks hopefully.

Hey guys it took some time but Im almost 100 leak free only the air brake on the back leaks when in the up position. If I could take it apart I could put a little o ring in there to limit its throw 2mm or so and all would be great
Where is NEUTRAL for the elevators?
Any elevator changes needed with full flaps?

Yes it took me a long time to find all the leaks, some in the 4 ways and some in the the cylinders, I replaced some but not all.
Elevators are set up to be flush with the tips of the speed brake.... for now anyway, I have set the c of g at 200mm now for the first flight and see how it goes. Lots of reading on the C of G, so doing the average of every ones answers....

You will be happy with 30 pounds. Started with 21 pound p80. Flew but no fun. Now p120se and it's perfect. Takes off on grass with no issues. I fly with stock tanks and set timer for 5 min to be safe as I have to taxi a long way to takeoff and enough fuel for several go arounds if needed
