So my mate and I went out for a drive and decided to make the racing a little more interesting. Needless to say, a few things got broken.

Check the vid out, managed to forward flip one of the TT-01's also. lol. Enjoy.

hahaha nice, i ran over a hose at 65kmh with my tt01 e and it flew about 20m and rear split the diff housing off with everything mounted on it. The good thing about tt01's is that its so cheap, quick and easy to repair. Does anyone know if a tt01 with ezrun 9t 3s lipo is as fast or faster than a ezrun 5.5t with 2s?
Thanks

So guys, what's the fastest affordable motor i could get to my TT-01?

I had an XB expert built TT-01, running a stock motor, with hpi racing 3300 mAh battery, then i added a full conversion kit (By Yeah Racing) and the car isn't running that fast.. so please recommend me something to do with the car to make it run way faster

Thank you

I have a 9T and run on 3 cell and my mate has a 5.5T on 2 cell. They are pretty evenly matched. Mine runs at 47,730 rpm and his runs at 44,400 rpm. You can't notice the difference.

Mine has held up fine and I'm using the stock diffs. I'd say they are better than the ball diffs. My mate uses them and melts them. It all depends on how you drive.

Thanks Andyjk for the help, i use ball diffs as they give morepower to the wheels withgrip in a turn than the ones without, no problems with melting any diffs as andyjk said yet. I rebuilt my whole tt01e last monday with new2 tt01e a parts, 1 tt01 b parts, 1 tt01ed parts, 1 tt01 parts, 1 tt01 chassis and less say its riding a whole lot better (and more shiny) than before.

see the 3 racing graphite conversion kits, do the gears mesh well with them as i want to run a brushless 9t lipo 2s on it but i dont want to wreck the gears quickly.</p>

Does anyone know if a Traxxas Velineon motor/esc from a 4WD Slash will work in a TT01?

I think you'll find that the motor will be a little to large. I'm pretty sure the motor shaft will be too long also.

If your sick of gear stripping and other gear problems here is a checklist that keeps my tt01e through the worst ive put on it.

1. Make sure that your using a compatible pinion/ spur combo and that  the motor is screwed on to the right holes on the motor mount foreach combonation
screw position     spur  gear      pinion gear
            a                       61t                  19t
            b                       61t                   2 0t
            c                       61t                   21t
            d                       61t                   22t
            a                       58t                   22t
           b                       58t                   23t
            c                       58t                   2 4t
            d                       58t                   25t
            a                       55t                   25t
            b                       55t                   26t
            c                       55t                    27t
            d                       55t                   28t

2. Make sure you put screws on all 4 holes of the gear cover as some people put 2 and that causes wear on te spur gear. Threadlock can also help keep thee cover tight.

3. Only use Tamiya av pinion gears and Tamiya tt01 spur gears on this car due to the design of the motor mount only permits tamiya av pitch pinions and spurs.

4. Don not use any other spur gear other than the ones stock on a tt01(61t), found in tamiya g parts tree (61t) or tamiya speed tuned gear set (55t/58t). Other gears such as 3 racing ones can not handle brushless motors and will strip quickly.

5. Use only tamiya stock motor mount  or hop up tamiya metal motor mounts other brands motor mounts may not have well calculated screw positions.

So have fun with your tt01's and avoid excess gear stripping, hope this helps.

Nice! All that aluminium and you're running a stock silver can? Time for brushless I think.

lol yeah that is hopefully the next purchase, I am looking at the eZrun 13t brushless. Does anyone know if that would be a decent motor, and what gears I should run with it?

thank you haddi for the very specific break down, i must agree mostly with the discouragement of using 3rd party spur gears and motor mounts (3racing etc.) , they certainly cannot handle brushless power.

Andyjk has the right idea, you need to run that heavy beast on that silver can to realize you need a hotter set-up, you're on the right track with those x-patterns, best on road grip in my opinion, unfortunately your front left is the only one mounted correctly.

I'd go a bit higher than 13T. Well, it all depends on what batteries you'll be using and how fast you want it to go. Ive got a 9T (4300kv) and I run it on 3 cell lipos. Plenty quick.

really? I thought that would be far too fast for the gears to handle. I don't need it to go all that fast, its got some snot with the stock motor which is what, I think 19 or 21t? I don't race, its all really for my own pleasure. I may look into it though.

I'm pretty sure stock silver cans are 27T. I'm running stock spur in mine, with a 21 or 22 pinion i think. It gets up to about 80km/h (50mph).

How fast do you want to go and what batteries will you be using?
