Oh, no, I didn't mean to be smug, just my online humour doesn't always pass through correctly.
Anyway this is a nice model, and I will take pictures of my F104Pro once I install all the hopups. Even though its the pro version, there are still tons of hopups.

I wanna put a better motor in my tyrrell. The Kit comes with a standard Tamiya 27 turn brushed motor....Any recommendations? Whats Race approved for this class? I do wanna race with it!!
Spur and pinion info would also be helpfull.
Thanks!

Hey guys, It’s been a while since I’ve been on here. I hope you’re all doing well. I thought I’d post up some pics of a cars I worked on this weekend. I’m pretty happy with how they turned out and thought I’d share.

They are all brilliant and beautiful, as soon as I saw these up went in search of a F104 to make my own but I wonder if they can just live life as a shelf queen....
I just built up a TA-05 IFS and it took a huge amount of time to do, I am not looking forward to the first time it touches something more solid than it.

RE: 1/10 RC Formula 1 Cars...lets see'em
Hi,
I want to get a 1/10 Rc F1 car and build a small circuit for racing with friends.
I'm new to RC so i have a question.
I will try to build a copy of an actual F1 track.
As far as i can see, the scale speed of the RC cars can be very high but if the lap time on the curcuit is 1m55s for example, i want my RC car to complete the circuit around that time to get realistic lap times.
How should i make the calculations to achieve that? The car size/track length/car speed?
Thanks...

If you're looking to achieve the same lap times as a real race, then there really aren't any calculations to make. Time will be fixed and displacement will be fixed which leaves one variable - velocity...
The size of the circuit you construct will be 1/10th the size of the real thing; the size of the car is fixed at 1/10th scale, so adjust your driving accordingly, for which there are no calculations because lap times are based on "average" velocity around a circuit or "average" speed which cannot be measured or calculated other than by completing a lap...
Just build the circuit as accurately as possible and adjust your driving so that you produce lap times around 1m 55s and that's all you can do...
Cheers

RE: 1/10 RC Formula 1 Cars...lets see'em
I was wondering would you guys recommend, the HPI F10 , or the Tamiya f104 for a first time on roader. I have a slash 4x4 and a slash 2wd before that,so i am not a total newb to rc. Or would you recommend to get a sedan type car first then once my skills are better then get the HPI F10 or tamiya? What would you recommend? I was thinking about the kyosho tf-5s. I will be not racing in the foreseeable future. Thank You D

I just picked up an older F103, Its a completely stock roller. Looking for what would be good upgrades for this car. Chassis/motors/ecs/tires. Car as of now isnt going to be a racer, no one around here has a class for these. I am familiar with the Castle Brushless, I run Sidewinder 5700"s in a custom Clod, Would 5700's be to much in this chassis?
