I have a Great planes Dazzler that I mounted snow skis on, once there's some snow on the ground I'm going to fly the crap out of it, not the best plane but perfect for chipping the rust off my thumbs

I have a Funtana 90S leaning up against my furnace, never been flown. Was assembled with a Hacker and servos once, but I used all that in something else. Maybe some day I will find a popper for it, but for now its collecting dust.

Sure is, this is one of mine. http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/rc-w...25-thread.html
Along with restoring an Ultimate 10 Dash 300, repairing a T-Clips 70, building a SIG Citabria, Repairing a SIG Piper Cub, and a few other odds and ends. I really need to find a place to store the Funtana so it doesn't get any more hanger rash. Has a chip taken out of the canopy.

LOL My building season begins Jan1 and ends Dec 31. I build all year long, because I find it just as relaxing as flying. Thats why I have 3 building tables along with a bench at my friends place.

I tried selling it last year, but no one was interested. It was assembled at one point, so packing it to ship would be a pain too. I think I have the manual for it too, so its all there. The only thing that is wrong is a chip out of the canopy.
I happen to have a couple pics on my phone with me.
This is why I guess it didn't sell. I suppose if I spent the time to get my Ebay account fixed so I can log in, I could post it there.

As far as shipping to a seller, you just have to disassemble what you can, obviously the tale isn't going anywhere, so take the landing gear off, and the tail wheel if possible, this way you can make it as flat as possible, next trick is finding a box just big enough for everything to fit snug, make sure to include the shipping with the sale price and list it here on RCU and eBay if you can fix your account.
Hell if I lived closer to you I'd buy it in a heartbeat.

Thanks, I'll post it once I get some time to get it all together, its sitting on its nose next to my furnace and the wings are somewhere else in the shop where I can't get to at the moment. Guess it would be better for someone who would want to fly it than have it sit and collect dust in my workshop. Now to figure a price and whether to include the hacker and ESC. I was going to slap a Magnum 91 on it instead, so disassembled it, but found a use for the servos, and there it sat.

I have a brand new Funtana 100x still in the box, I would much rather have the old Funtana 90, if I could afford it I would work out a deal with you for this bird, I really love the F90 such a great plane.
when you do go to sell it send me a message and price, maybe by that time I'll have some extra cash laying around.

So I came across another Katana for what seemed an impossible price.
this is roughly a 1/4 scale bird with a 77 inch wingspan and 76 inches long, they have it listed at 70% off which makes $124.00 shipped
its a Funtech Katana

That's a nice extra, it makes me sad knowing aeroworks is gone, I still have my Hangar 9 Katana in the box, I've been going through all my engines this winter, all my stuff has been just sitting for almost 6 years now so I started tearing down some of the motors I had sitting on a shelf, what I found wasn't all that great, I've cleaned and even rebuilt some 12 motors now and still have another 12 to go.

Deal,
What engine are you thinking of for your Katana 50? I have an O.S. 81a 4-stroke ready for mine, however the plane seems quite lightly built and seems more suited for electric rather than glow.

Well after speaking to quite a few people who own the Katana 50 I decided to go with a large 2 stroke, I have a basically brand new OS 91fx, or a very lightly used Evolution 91nx that I did a complete tear down and clean, both motors weigh about 24 ounces with muffler.
when I do finally build the Katana I will be looking for any flaws or weaknesses in the airframe to make sure it holds up, the OS 91 is a super smooth running motor so I'm not to worried about vibration.

Deal,
My O.S. 81a weighs 22 oz. with muffler and header, my O.S. 110a 24 oz. Is your choice based on balancing the plane, or the increased power for 3D flying? The 81a flys my 7 lb. Aeroworks 260 great with an 14x6 Xoar. I'm assuming that the Katana 50 with come in at around 6 1/2 lbs with that engine according to others that have used a Saito 82. I'll be doing IMAC abd pattern style flying. My new Extra 300 at 7lbs. 3 oz. has an O.S. 110a for giggles. With a 15x7 at 9500 and 14.5 lbs. of thrust, it should haul the freight!

Well I've been told this plane is very tail heavy, so if I'm going to have to add weight to the nose it may as well be useful weight, and yes I want plenty of power on tap for 3D flight.
I have an original Hangar 9 Funtana 40 with a Saito 82, it came in at 5 pounds 5 ounces, the Saito does a great job hauling the Funtana around, but I've always wished it had just a tiny bit more power, so I can't imagine that motor doing very well with a 6 plus pound Katana, if I was dead set on running a 4 stroke I would go with a Saito 100 or the new YS fz80

No not at all, if it was built super light like ARF'S purpose built for electrics only, well it wouldn't weigh 6 1/2 pounds, it would be in the 4 1/2 to 5 pound range.

Oh yea, I've seen photos of the Katana 50 with a DLE 20, seems crazy but if you look at the box where it shows required equipment, it calls for a 14cc motor if your going to go gas, I still think a DLE 20 is a bit overkill, I looked at the RCGF 15 but decided I didn't want to mount a 30 ounce motor on it, plus they aren't quite as smooth as there nitro burning cousins.
I found a 90 sized Extra 330L I think you might like, I'll get you a link and post it here

I have just been given a 77" wingspan Funtech Katana, still in the box. Unfortunately it is missing the instruction manual. Everything else seems to be there in pristine condition, except the manual. I am hoping that someone may have the same model and still have the instruction manual. Hope to hear a positive reply. Jam
