So it would seem that it may be possible to do the inline with minimal modifications. Interesting..

I hope someone try’s this combo before me! Lol

My new P47 arrived this week. Will be electric power like my TopRC Zero. Elite 120 motor on 12S2P setup.
Sadly. The box had forklift damage in shipping. Needs a new wing. all else is good. Mike at Gator has promised to make this right.
Excited about the new plane. Looks great. The fuselage on this plane is friggin huge!

Anyone know why the TopRc doesn't have an inner chin cowl for the intercooler like other P47 kits?

Bradley,
I had a damaged canopy when I got mine and Ashley at Gator got me a replacement.
What I have found is missing parts now that I am putting mine together; the big one is TopRC only furnishes 10 of the large G10 control horns; when you start building you will see that it OBVIOUSLY needs 14 in order to complete it.
I sent Ashley an e-mail about this shortage and to let TopRC know about this oversight.
I also didn't get any of the flat hinges or the 3 Robart hinges needed for the rudder; luckily, I have those in my building supplies.
Good luck with your build; I went with a Quadra 100 for my project.

Nice Mike.
thanks for the info. Interesting enough, I too noticed the missing Robart type hinges so far as well. I have at least 100 in my shop, so I'm not concerned like you. QC is not up to snuff yet on this model it would appear with these repeated mistakes. Gator is good to take care of issues if found.
I will count the G10 and other issues. That may or may not be missing. Obviously a trend on these hardware kits.

Are you also missing the intercooler Chin cowl as well?
Niry P47 shows it.

Brad

bradley,

This kit doesn't come with the intercooler chin; I asked Nirly where he got his and he said someone had made it for him; nothing more.

Exactly what prop is that?
It looks similar ones I've bought from Gerhard @Aircraft International?

Stuck the airframe together to ogle the new toy.

Unlike Bradley, I’m putting the UMS in to make airplane noises and run circles around his e power thing. 😁

I spent a few minutes on Solidworks today modeling an inter cooler chin. Gotta figure out how to create a profile to trim it to fit the cowl. Might just print the ring and then Brad and I can cut sections out of it to fit.

So has anybody come up with a good solution for the interference between the ailerons and flaps when the flaps are down?

Paul and I belong to the same flying club and bought our P47's together. His will be gas, mine will be electric. Time will tell who will have the faster P47.........

Brad,
Yes it is from Gerhard @Aircraft International; it is a Biela 24x10.
Paul, I haven't put the flaps and ailerons on my wings yet; what do you mean by interference?

At the moment I'm working on putting some fire power into the wings; nothing more disgusting than to see a fighter plane without the guns to back it up.

Thanks for that info Mike!
I have 2 of their 3 blade Belia units on other airplanes. There gorgeous and work great.

i just “dry fit” my flaps and ailerons to test on one wing. I messaged someone on FB who had built theirs and he warned me about the interference. When then flap is down, the aileron crashes with it. So some clearance needs to be made and then repaint. 🤨🤬

If anyone is interested, I added guns to my P-47. Be aware that there is no hardwood/balsa in the wing LE so the guns will be mounted to the wing laminations itself.
I used Hysol to glue in the dowels and they are plenty strong enough to handle the weight of the aluminum tubes, LOL.

Ive chatted online with the guy who put the Moki 180 in. Said it was a hassle and he wouldn’t do it again. The UMS150 5cyl fits in the cowl. Funny enough, I just found out my UMS 125 will not fit without some accommodations for the rockers on cyl 2 and 5.

Default TopRC P47

Hey guys, got my Snafu last week and fortunately no damage. They did ship the gear in a separate box, but the plane parts bag was missing the typical 4 horns, 3 rudder hinges and some flat hinges. Ashley said TopRC is still shipping without those parts. She took care of the missing parts the same day I called and I already recieved them.

Would love to put the UMS 150 in her, but can't justify the cost. Probably going to use a DLE 111, with a cutout for the caps or fiberglass some bump outs for them. I have heard of some owners reinforcing the wing saddle in the fuse, but this was for the Zero model.

Look the joints over that you can see..

You get the UMS, and you'll never look back. You'll be very happy you did.

They sound, simply...muah...perfect.

Oh, I know I'd be happy with it, lol. Nothing sounds like a radial! Might have to put off retirement a while, haha.

Does anyone know what brand and size prop hub maddog-RCU used on his 4 blade? It looks great!
