the t-maxx parts will fit, i got told buy a friend that has fixed my magic wheel that all the running gear (e.g. gear box, and the 2 center shafts going to it will fit, the break should fit, all the uper parts e.g. the main plate and the top arms that go to the wheels will fit also the lower arms will fit(but dont put the alloy ones on the bottom if crash they can bend the chassi so stick to plastic ones on the bottom) if you take it to a model shop only take the parts that have broken dont take the hole truck, ask if they have any parts simler to that, and see wot they come up with but most of what i have listed will fit as i have put most of them on mine

once you're sure your engine is tuned and broken in,then look to the trans for the the second gear adj, screwing in (clockwise) speeds up the shift, and c-clockwise delays the shift...its a fine balance so be sure your not runnin tooo lean....

excellhobbies.com is a good part supplier, or dinball.com is also good. your truck is identicle to the traxxas t-maxx though, so those parts fit too.

Not ALL the part fit... The are very similar, but not identical. It IS possible to covert a Smartech into a T-maxx 2.5 or 3.3.

I cant stand dinball, I ordered some parts from them, the last thing I ordered was a Servo, took a month to get to me. They say "Dinball for sure" I saw stay away.

As for using origital Traxxas parts, yes, I say do so and spare yourself the problems and 3week wait for parts that are inferior anyways (and pobably loaded with toxins, afterall, they are made in China from most likely a shady sub-contractor who cuts way too many cornes in production costs).

The original Traxxas parts may not fit exactly, sominor mords with a dremel to sand down here and there might be in order.

Yes, the engine mounts should be identical as far as the bolt pattern is concerned, so any small block, TRX engine or any other small block, should be a direct bolt on. Even if Smartech made the Magic Wheel to have a proprietory bolt pattern, you could buy an oroginal Traxxas T-Maxx engine mount and chuck the trash Magic Wheel engine mount to bolt on any standard small block to the Traxxas engine mount.

the biggest improvement to that car would be all traxxas stuff. make yourself a 3.3 maxx. that would be sweet.

I"m not 100% sure about what you're saying... I didn't try to put another engine in it, I just got an Aftermarket T-maxx Chassis for it, put an O.S. .18TM in it and changed some other parts to Traxxas there you go: a nice, well rounded truck.

When I compared it to my name brand original T-maxx 2.5 (this is before I converted it over...) the transmission seemed to sit further forward. It's not hard to put an small-block in it.

Here is a few I found while searching. You guys should try it...

http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/m_25...tm.htm#2552577
http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/m_38...tm.htm#3867814

Read all the way through this one, the guy put an OS. 18 in his SMW.
