RE: Building a boat: The Chronicle
I have 2 questions for you, 1 you have the tanks vented right?
and 2, how can you make sure both tanks will work right. Ive tried it before and there is always more gas sucked from one tank than the other, how do you solve this problem ?

Yep, the tanks are vented, and I thoought of this earlier today, and decided to add a equalizing line between the tanks. I.E a large line between the two tanks lowest parts, that will allow the fuellevel to always stay at a equal level in both tanks.

RE: Building a boat: The Chronicle
Well, all I really need to know, is if the tanks are empty, or if they are recently filled, and I think I´ll remember if I filled them up...=) And, if the boat stalls on the pond, then I just assume they are empty. At a later point, I may incorporate a clear fuel-line on the outside of one of the tanks, to keep track of the amount of fuel in them. At first, I just nned to get them to work properly...=) Some minor issues right now, but nothing that I can´t solve rather easily.

RE: Building a boat: The Chronicle
TERBObob, no problem, just glad I could help out!
Well, I hope this thing will look as good on the water as it does on the workbench...that remains to be found out in early spring!
The paintjob is not yet decided, but the colours certainly will be black metallic, and bright red metallic. Some tribals and a "mudflapgirl", (you know the kind that sits on big trucks mudflaps) with some devilshorns will be on there. The final design is not yet decided though.
ash4889, I too have noticed that TERBObob´s posts make this forum a nice place to dwell. However, there are many others in here that do the same, and you are included. Just want to say thank you to all of you that has replied and helped out this far in the build, without all of your guy´s support, the boat would not have come nearly as far as it has done. Thank´s!

RE: Building a boat: The Chronicle
Well, the plans are measuring up at 1,27 meters, and mine is upscaled to 1,43 meters. So, a .21 might be a little small, don´t you think? However, they are on the other hand possible to scale down as well...=) He, he... Good luck in whatever you choose, and keep us updated on all the projects!

Maybe i will build a .45 model then... lol. Good luck with yours dude. wont have to scale it down as far.(could build a .61 but that starts to get expensive!) could even build a gas model...

RE: Building a boat: The Chronicle
So, if i didnt scale the plans up or down what size gas engine would be best for it? Also have you found out what the boat is yet (e.g. name? )

RE: Building a boat: The Chronicle
My bet would be a g260 PUM works really nice. That´s what the guy I got the plans from is using. And no, I have no idea what the boat originally is called...=) My boat however, is going to be called She-Devil, after my girlfriend...=) The paintjob will illustrate this also...

RE: Building a boat: The Chronicle

RE: Building a boat: The Chronicle
Sort of envious of your hardware, I must say. But, I have made all the other hardware myself, so I think I´ll attempt making my own "stinger-type" strut too. Just to see if I can pull it off. Pics will come...

RE: Building a boat: The Chronicle
With just some imagination, and simply being stubborn, I´m sure I can get it to come together...=) And, with any luck and some new funds, I can even get myself a new radiosystem and make the drive and trimtabs adjustable by RC... Just some more thinking.
