Yup!
Just using these old Rhom's as spacers. They have identical dimensions to both Robart 500's and the new E-Flite 60 size retracts which I hope to use.
David.

Doug,
good to have you back. I sent you a couple of PM's some time ago re your Deception. Did you get a kit cut from AK? I'd still like to get one if it's an option along with your great plans.
I noticed you have a thread inquiring about headers for the X60's you picked up. Those exhaust flanges redefine non-standard. Did you have any luck finding something? The OS headers don't work by the way - too narrow. Rossi's I don't know.
I found this by fluke - it'll be fun getting the two apart! Apparently epoxy was used...

A friend sent me a rather unique magazine cover which I thought I should post - Hanno's show sized Supra Star. Big ST for power.
Notice the side mounted engine with the different shaped cowl compared to the 60. Mystic BGX was likely the same in cowl modifications. This was around the time that Hanno switched from being sponsored by ST to OS.
For comparison, some pictures of a SS-25 with OS 40 LA power.

Finally bought a Supra Star which I have been searching around for nearly 2 years, I finally saw an advert in the B.M.F.A which I rang the guy and drove straight through.
He sold me it complete and ready to go for £130.00 just needs a little Tlc to bring it to a nice standard, very very happy cant wait to get her in the air!!!!!

Nice find! It looks like one of the EZ ARF kits - uncanny how similar it looks to the EZ SS 25 in the previous post. Undoubtedly one is just a scaled version of the other.
Is that a YS 61 FS in it? Should be a beat to fly!
David.

SW74gls... I saw the EZ Supra star on the BMFA web site, he had a OS91FX in it, not a YS. When I rang the guy, he didn't know what he had.
I guess you were the best person for it, seeing as you wanted one so bad.
I thought you had bought a In the box EZ Supra star from singapour for £800 ?

Hi Chino,
Yes I know since I scanned a Supra Star drawing - You can download the full scale drawing in PDF and print it at a plot bureau or similar. Then start building
Get the drawing here:

RE: Hanno Prettner later WC designs - drawings?
Hi,
I made 3 PDF files for Youand they are attached below. Just print them on A4 printer (make sure you do not rescale them in any way when printing from Adobe Reader or similar). They are in scale 1:1 and ready to use. Stab root and tip is one print (part 1 of 1), wing root and tip is two parts (just tape them together after print).

I´m considering building a Curare or a Supra Star. I think that, as a first rc pattern plane, the Supra Star is the easiest to build.

Dox,
That looks like a Rossi back door header on the STX. I think I might make a comparison with my stuff, although Macs might make header material for the X60.

RE: Hanno Prettner later WC designs - drawings?
I wasdoing some calculations with the Supra Star plan.
It said that the span is 68", it´s about 172,72 cm.
With the template 1:1 of the airfoil Bem gave me I´ve got a span of 164,51 cm (64,7").
Some of you know wich is the span of this pattern plane? Or maybe I´m wrong.
Regards,
Chino</p>

RE: Hanno Prettner later WC designs - drawings?
Hi,
I think it is no doubt about the Wingspan that is printed on the "Dupli-Star" drawing since the drawing is madefrom an exact measurement of an EZ Supra Star 60. It is 68 inch or 172,72 centimeter (cm) in wingspan. I measured (half) wing on the TIF drawing I have and it was 866 millimeter (mm) so that is total wingspan 1732 mm (173,2 cm). So that is very little deviation from 68 inch/172,7 cm just 5 millimeter (nothing to bother about in my opinion).
I have printed the PDF files of Stab tip+root and Wing tip+root and measured the length, on paper after printout, with a ruler and also measured the length on the TIF drawing in scale 1:1 with a drawing program and they are the same. Legth of Stab tip template is 153 millimeter (mm), root 199 mm, Wing tip 217,5 mm, root 357 mm. When printing the PDF files it is very important to have no scaling in the PDF program used to print otherwise the scale will not be preserved on paper printout.
I have uploaded new stab and wing templates PDF files (3 files) in my orginal post where they belong just in case they in some way was not accurate.
As you can see in the pictures below I have printed them out on my printer and measured the length of the Stab and Wing templates and they are accurate.

I´ve checked my airfoil copies and It seems that my printer doen´t print 1:1.

RE: Hanno Prettner later WC designs - drawings?
Chino,
I've been following your excellent Curare build with interest. I think that after you are done with that build, if you decide to build a SS or another post Magic Prettner design, you will find the construction considerably easier.
Just a quick comment regarding your post above. Your printer is not at fault for not printing 1:1 as Bo pointed out. When dealing with vector files such as PDF's and those generated by Profili, you must insure that the printer driver is not scaling the file on printout. That would be the default of many printer drivers - they will reduce the drawing to "fit the margins". So for example if you were printing a letter size sheet of paper with text on it, the driver will output this at 96% in order to insure the entire contents are contained within the margins.
I suspect that is what happened when you printed the drawings Bo offered us, you must have scaled it down slightly on printout. Make sure the dialogue box on printout says "None" int he scaling box - very important when dealing with plans!
I hope this helps,
David.

Hi All
I wanted to ask you if you know any body who has planes from they Hanno Prettner range, Curare, Calypso, Magic and Supra. I had for many years a 3 Curare's and 4 Calypsos but you know what is up has to come down and so for this i'm looking to get planes for them and cut them for my self

Doug,
good to have you back.
David.

If it's epoxy, you should be able to heat the two and separate them. A real hot air gun (not wrinkle kote) would probably be the best bet

Hey Matt,
thanks for for the tip!
Actually, JB Weld was used to join them. It seems like a decent albeit fixed joint. My main concern is that there is no damping between the header and engine. Otherwise, it's usable.
I still have to try out the NR sealing rands and headers - see if they work. The rise on the header in the picture is a tad high although it could be used. It protrudes about half a width from the fuse side bottom. A recessed header would be nicer.
I'll check out the NR headers on another ST as I have a couple before attempting disassembly of this silver head TST Hanno.

Hi,
OK, here is the Supra Star plan in PDF. No guarantees all measurments are correct and wing+stab profiles are correct but most things are probably as accurate as one can make a drawing from the EZ Supra Star ARF with reasonably effort and time. I have the plan in TIF format also if someone want that.I would guess it is not many drawings around on Hanno Prettner Supra Star so this drawing is probably rather unique. The person from England who made the drawing must have all credit for doing the job. If I knew his name I would suggest a donation to him (I do not have his name or e-mail) if You download the plan and build from it. I got the plan from Ray Jennings from Ireland (via another person)so I could make a copy of it and scan it - many thanks Ray! I know there are some inaccuracies in the drawing so use it with critical eyes if you build from it. If You want to plot the PDF You need a huge paper (1575 x 1017 millimeter paper).
