how wide are them wheels?
because i've got 30mm wide on the rear of my gt, and i was thinking of putting the Jag XJR12 wheels / tyres on te back lol

Which tires are you using at 30mm?

I looked at HPI 31mm tires, but I didn't like the tread pattern. I am looking for an HPI X type tread or something dirrectional. I have some sorex 24mm, but I don't think they make any bigger sorex tires.

i'm using foam tyres, because i race on carpet, and they give more grip

I would expect the F103 to be a beast on carpet.

Yeah, I have some 30mm foam that I bought from Tower.. haven't put it on.. for pavement, I just use the standard 26mm X-Pattern Belted...

I am not sure if the XJR's wide tires would help.. LOL!! Wider does not mean more traction...

The main problem as you know is getting traction in the rear. So I'll be trying out diffrent things to improve the traction.

Most racing rules would prohibit you from using the gyro, I think.... [:@]

I only use a gyro for straight line speed runs. I don't use it for racing.

I don't want to! It increases my turning radius.

Yeah, they are really meant for heli..

The one I used is a rate gyro.. not a head holding gyro, though.. (for my purpose, cheaper one would do!)

I don't use it for drifting.. more for helping preventing spin out on the high power RWD application!

Haven't ran the F103GT for a LONG time.. decided to dust it off and run a pack through it...

LOL, forgot that it always drags the battery cable.. good thing that I checked when the silicon cover is just rubbed off... [:@]

Two VERY different cars!! RWD vs. FWD! Independent suspension vs. solid axle.. silvercan vs. BL!

But also very similar in some sense!

Both Tamiya.. both runs LRP ESC.. both have Futaba S3010 servo for steering.. both wearing HPI X-Pattern Belted tires.. oh yeah.. both sports TRF shocks!! LOL!

Figured I'd get more response over here than the lounge...

So I am ordering the F103 GT tomorrow morning. I am getting the bearings and a cheap duratrax esc (the 23 dollar one) because in your thread LB it was mentioned anything higher than 23 turns is a handful and this ESC can handle 20 turns.

The only problem is I do not have a good radio yet just a bunch of cheap AM's around. Is that ok for the time being (I plan to buy a nice futaba in about a month) and then I can upgrade or is the car ocmpletely undrivable without computerized expo and other parameters. Will order once I get a second opinion. Thanks.

Oh I was just reading your thread LB I don't have to buy any bearings?

Hope that Duratrax ESC and standard AM reciever fit ok in the chassis what do you think...

Sorry for all the questions just figure better find out before I purchase everything.

My order is ready to go

I have had decent experience with AM radio.. I had a 2PL for awhile and gave that to my nephew.. I even use it w/ BL setup.. never gave me any problem.. so unless you are having major problem w/ it right now, it is okay.. (meaning, if it works for you now, it will probably works in the F103GT.. the car is no different than other..)

Yeah, even w/ just a silvercan, it is pretty quick.. put in some Sport Tune and it is even faster.. 23T will be quite fast! And put a BL in it...............

Good luck man!! Looking forward to run with your F103GT!!

So reading through this post I realized that the kit comes with no grease and never mentions using any? What did you guys do?
