RE: Welcome to Club SAITO !
I wished I had copied yours as it takes me forever to type. Anyway its obvious there are different instructions for the USA and the rest of the world. So what does the manufacture have to say about that ? Probably not much but I guess you take your choice and suck it and see. cheers the pope member 534 signing off

bldrums,
The initial setting for the LS needle is with the face of the screw-head on the needle set about 1mm inferior to the surface of the plastic throttle arm. If the arm happens to be metal, set the face of the screw flush with the surface of the throttle-arm. This initial setting is very rich and the LS needle must be adjusted AFTER setting the HS needle. Adjust the HS needle ONLY at wide-open-throttle.

RE: Welcome to Club SAITO !
Hello all, I just purchased the Top Flight Gold Edition Corsair and the LHS recomended the Saito FA125a 4-stroke for the power plant. After reading some reviews, I think I'll be happy with their recomendation. It will be a while before I get it in the air, but I've found a question I didn't think to ask the LHS. What muffler or manifold should I use to keep the exterior looking as stock as possible? The box has an image of an aftermarket Top Flight muffler to go with the two stroke engines and that's sort of what I'm after. I've roughly eyeballed the cowling/engine fit and it's apparent that I'll need to cut a relief for the rocker arm covers. The stock muffler and manifold may fit into the cowling with an air vent cut into the bottom. Any thoughts or ideas? P.S. sorry if I posted in the wrong forum.

Alternative mufflers for the 125 may be hard to come by? The exhaust size (13mm) for the 125 is exclusive to this one engine.
Four stroke's mufflers are usually smaller than those of a two stroke so will have less of a visual impact.
One solution would be to mount the cylinder at a downward angle so as to place the muffler at the very bottom and therefore out the cowl vent.
There is a right angle adapter available from Saito that would offer some alternative possibilities?

Bill, if you ever need a second opinion or an extra ear to listen to it, I'm only about 70 miles away. I enjoy flying at different fields. I've flown in Wythville, Pulaski, Tazewell, Caleo, Fort Belvoir, CCRC in Waldorf, Md., Montgomery County Aerodrome in Germantown, Md. and a private field right here in Colonial Beach.

I have not had a rust problem since using omega 15% and marine storage fogging oil as after run. I like the pressure can as you can see the prop turn assuring the oil is getting into the lower end, I turn the prop a few turns by hand to help distribution. I modify the can and use a brass tube to fit the drain line. The modified top can be used for future cans. Works for me. I have stored engines for 2 years with no problems.

RE: Welcome to Club SAITO !
regular marvel mystery oil is not a good choice for long term storage. i used to use it as an air tool lubricant in the paving breaker, was told later that it creates a fungus or something. ATF has excellent rust inhibitors, air tool oil is good for a light coating of all the surfaces.

RE: Welcome to Club SAITO !
Hi to all members: I have a question on Saitos performance with the use of the venturi.
I have noted that some GK version of saitos comes with the venturi and larger saitos like the 150 and 180 also come with venturi, is there any advanatge in the use of these venturis?

Venturis make for better fuel economy. There's a plume of fuel mist that stands outside a regular carburetor and this gets blown all over the plane.
The Saito 100 and 125 do not come with a venturi but you can install a venturi from one of the other engines.
