Nice structure, it is always a pleasure to admire those jobs, I wish you could post more pictures regarding your ultimate building, I know it is an additional job but it is very rewarding for most of us.
Gary, I appreciate your post and I am very excited with the idea of having a Tiger Moth of that size, maybe in the future I will be asking you for help on having it, by now, I really want to start-finish this PT-17, either way I really appreciate your help.

No worries, I built the Tiger a long time ago but I can remember how it went together! The instructions are very good and well illustrated. I am lucky enough to part own and fly a real one.
I've not posted many photos of the Ultimate as it's fairly well covered here and in other threads already but I can easily post more.
Have got the Robart jig now, nice quality tool, and I'll be having a go at doing the hinges later as it is a very wet day here today!
Cheers

I've started on hinging the elevators and so far so good!
There is a very good tutorial for Robart hinges here and I've been following it closely.
I made life difficult for myself by not drilling the square balsa before assembly but I didn't have the jig at that time.
With these hinges there is no margin for error if they are out of line, I marked the hinge positions across the mating faces of the tailplane and elevator and shone a torch down the hole in the jig to check the position before drilling with a hand drill.
I used the sanding jig supplied with the kit for the bevel, great little gadget and I don't think I've ever seen anything like that in a kit before.
Just the other elevator, rudder and four ailerons to go now!!
Can you add captions to images on this forum? Here's some photos anyway.

I built one of these awesome biplanes back in 1992 and loved every flight. Wish I never sold it...[] I still have the Bluehawk decals somewhere since I never used them. Everyone else flying them put them on the plane so I had to be different.

Would you be willing to send them to a good home across the Atlantic?!!
I quite like the standard scheme, think there is another blue one with Labatt's logos, perhaps it was the same aircraft?
Worst hangover ever on that stuff on my first trip to Canada!!

I'd be happy to send mine if he can't locate his. PMme your address and I can figure out what it would cost tosend them in a padded envelope. They are on a pretty long sheet, so for that lenght of a trip, it might be best to roll them into a small piece of plastic conduit.

RE: Carl Goldberg Ultimate 10-300 Brotherhood.
Thanks David, I'll PMyou later. Are the original graphics stick-on or waterslide, just curious!!
I'm progressing with the elevator control linkage, the hardware was missing from my kit so I'm robbing parts from the crashed model that the Ultimate will be replacing.
The dead model (a Chris Foss Xtra Wot, a large Extra 300 type of thing) used a carbon pushrod to a rocking bellcrank with two short pushrods to the elevators, it would be nice to use it again or a similar system.
The control horns were 3 mm bolts with aluminium cone load spreaders and adjustable clevis connectors, just the job!

Sometime ago, here at Rc Universe, there were a Pepsi vs Coca competition, both were CG Ultimate bipes, the war was focused on the engines they had, (Saito vs YS), there were plenty of pictures and comments, it looks like the story coming back again, the war may, now, include trim schemes, servos set up, etc.
Congratulations for the great job on both.

I bought an Ultimate from a club member about 8 years ago. It was in the coke colors with logos. Lost it on a snap roll on takeoff. So I built it back with the coke logos but changed it some from the original look. For the engine, it is a pre surpass FS 120 by OS. I have it swinging a 15 inch prop. Has plenty of power but is just shy of hang on the prop. Yes I’m a big fan of Coke and have a small coke collection so why not have a coke plane….

RE: Carl Goldberg Ultimate 10-300 Brotherhood.
Neat!
Built the interplane struts today, completely stock. Made a small mistake in tapering the rear of the balsa doublers a bit too far so they won't sit quite flat against the wing lugs.
I was a bit worried about the recent post on engine/cowling alignment so I fitted the engine and chopped the ABS cowl up to have a look.
All a bit tight in there, especially the carb but I think it will be ok and the alignment is good. Got nothing to loose by building the ABS cowl, can use it as a hole cutting panel for a fibreglass cowl at the least.
The black disc in the photos is the spinner backplate from a Parkzone 109, very useful for this job!!
Cheers

I wouldn't be worried about inhaling balsa dust all day long, I would be by inhaling CA, it is the irritant party of any build. Talking about inhaling, I had a great day "inhaling" nitro in the morning, took my CG Ultimate out for some more flights, cowling is starting to crack, it is the original one, maybe it is time to look for the fiberglass upgrade.
Paul, great start and good pictures, one of them inverted, making proof that it is easy to see aCG Ultimate in inverted position.
Congrats!!!!

Thanks Alfred!!
I'll try and put a few hours every week, life + work + busines+ an MBA degree in progress isn't exactly the best recipe for a kit build...[&:]
I wanted to keep the images in the forum, but it seems RCUniverse doesn't have a mobile version . For now I won't have time to build and take pictures and download them to PC and posting them in the forums hehehe .
You're right, this thing is just a few glued sticks and already wants to be inverted!!
The camera in the iPad is so-so, but right now facebook will be the easiest way to document the build. I'll post a few "real" pictures now and then...
Saludos,
Jean Paul

RE: Carl Goldberg Ultimate 10-300 Brotherhood.
Usage of mobiles on rcuniverse could represent a vivid and graphic forums. Generally I use computers for my job but I use a lot my mobile for all other things, even browsing on internet is faster in my mobile, so it's a sad thing that rcuniverse does not support mobile picture or video uploads. I bet they know about that and soon there will be a response to our claims.
I have to tell that I felt kind of nostalgia just by seeing your CG Ultimate kit box, it was a great build, took my time and even though it went pretty fast to see the skeleton ready for covering. Or, maybe great moments just happen to fast.
Cheers.

RE: Carl Goldberg Ultimate 10-300 Brotherhood.
I have been rebuilding my ultimate after a bad dead stick last fall. Can't get my !#*% OS 91 FX to keep running in the air.
Anyway I don't have the plans and I can not find information on the balance point/ center of gravity. I down loaded the manual but if it is there I can not find it. Could someone please share with me this info?
Thanks
Wayne

I run mine at 3" back at the fuse of the lower wing. Balance inverted(using the top of the lower wing). These Ults are very CG tolerant. Flat spins @ 3" are just right, as are Lomcevaks. No bad habits either. Stalls are still straight ahead with no tip stall.
