The O.S. V-Spec is a good motor, but on the expensive side. No doubt O.S. makes a good motor, just got to pay for it. I tried a .21, and then I dropped in a .28. The difference is night and day. Just the other day I ran my CRT against another CRT. I was running the LRP .28 Spec 3 and he had the Axial .28RR. In comparison, the LRP puts out so much more power. I would give the LRP a try. I've got over three gallons through it so far and it only cost $169 vs $300 for the O.S. V spec. If I were going to spend $300, I would throw in another $20 and get the O.S. 28XZ. A .21 is good for a buggy, but a truggy needs a .28 in my opinion.

This is good advice and to the point. My OS engine for my buggy has served me well.

What all is required to run a os .28xz in a stock crt... can i use the stock backplate for my autostarter? will the stock exhaust work?

As far as I know, the OS .28xz is bump start only and not able to be converted. If you want to keep the roto start, you'll need to look into a pull-start engine or one with a roto start. For example the [link=http://www.osengines.com/engines/osmg2078.html]OS .30VG ES[/link]. I will do some more research, but pretty sure you'll be buying a starter box if you want to run the OS .28xz, also you might need the pro kit low profile engine mounts. The stock exhaust will hook right up, but I would suggest buying a better pipe.
In regards to the LRP. I have the pull start version and had to buy the LRP backplate and HPI roto start. I also had to get the tall engine mounts since the pro kit only comes with the low mounts. Works awesome, and no need to carry around a starter box. Will add some pics for you to see.

Ok, i just pulled the rear diff out to change the grease that factory put in it to 3k silicon. Now my problem is when i put it all back together the pinion gear makes a winning noise it. it has not been ran sence i have done this so i know i did not ruin the gears. It has shims and i put them back the way they came out if that helps also it had some thick grease on the gears. what did i do wrong. thanks

RE: Official Jammin X1CRT Thread
I know this has more then likely been asked in this thread, but I don't have time to read through 36 pages.
I need to know how to make my CRT turn sharper. It don't turn well off power (it will turn around in about a 10" circle) but on power it won't turn for nothing (but I'm using 30K in my center diff but I'm about to put thinner oil in it)
My tires are towed out (maybe 2 or 3 degrees) and I'm, running a 3.5 in the back (don't know what its called)

RE: Official Jammin X1CRT Thread
for better on power steering, thicker front diff oil, thicker center differ oil, and less tow out, also there is an ackerman adjustment, decrease the ackerman. All should help.

Whats an ackerman? Sorry its been a while since I've worked on my CRT.
How dose thicker center diff oil help on power steering? the tires are barely touching the ground as is.

RE: Official Jammin X1CRT Thread
it will send more power to the rear, allowing the rear to slide instead of the front, in turn the slower spinning front tires will get more traction and the truck will rotate through the turn better.
