its a 15 inch tape that you apply and put resin inside. as soon as a row is done pull up the low tack tape and a perfect row of rivets. Ill try to get a pic now ill see how it turns out. you can see them but in the sun the effect is spectacular. some of the crew there and they say kitties and doggies dont get along. the bipe is from the movie central airport made in 1935 good!
when you order ed will give you a cd of 500 closeups! he lives in tx and has 3 b-17s nearby. flitemetal.com tell him tim thompson said hello

Guys (..and gals if any )
I just received my b-25 , and finsihed reading through this entire thread before opening a very very large box. After weighing and considering my options, I plan on using the O.S FS-70 ultimate with MAS 12x8 props. The TF instructions recommend a minimum 2000mAh receiver battery. I've run 4.8v NiCd up to now on all my other models, but am having trouble locating a 2000mAh NiCd. Does anyone have any recommendations? I guess I could buy a 2000+ niMH, but then I would need to buy a seperate charger, as I dont want to use my field box to charge it. Can I buy a simple wall plug charger with lead as I use to charge my NiCd receiver batteries?
Thanks all

morgan,
You can use 2 X 2000 NiCAD with your system. Both Batteries will need separate charge jacks and switch, then join them with a Y and there you go you have 4000 MAH 4.8v. I understand you whant to avoid buying a charger but take advantage of boxing day sales and buy the Accu Cycle Elite and you will solve your charging problems for ever.

if your gonna go that way with a new charger, i would say go Li-ion. you get 6V 2400mah weighs half or less double or triple the times you fly w/o recharge, never holds a memory so you can charge them when there only half or even after one flight if you want. the cost is really not that much more then a 2000mah NiCd. the battery and regulator is all you need. www.troybuiltmodels.com use their battery with a MPi regulator. you wont be sorry!!! thats all i use now. even in my 40 size planes.

just looked at the price $31.50 for the battery and $19.95 for the regulator. little more then NiCd, but much better! i think anyway.

each side is 14" Long. Get the longer 24in set of nelson hinges. MY LHS had them hanging in the doll house dept! you need the 1/2 inch pair.

If I might make a suggestion.
I spent about 1/2 hour on the phone with the fellow that owns Nelson's yesterday and he had a few suggestions. Heck of a nice guy.
Also I just finished installing mine and they turned out very nice.
He suggests using 3-10" lengths because you will want to remove the existing hinge pin and replace it with 1/32" music wire so it operates freely.
With the 10" hinge the pin removes very nicely using the method he shows on his web site.
Then the 3'rd hinge can be cut to length to add to the other 2 hinges.

Tim,
Is sunlight something you have to deal with up there?
From the weather reports I see down here I'm surprised you could get outside.
She really looks great. Your detailing is fabulous.

Diverdon,
You must make a "platform" to sit the gyro on @ the CG location +/- 5.5 inch from the leading edge location and in line with the centerline of the fuselage ( roll axis) this is the "floating center of the aircraft. Glue a across sitting on the stringer inside the fuselage (approx 6inch x 1.5 inch) Make certain you use the foam 2 sided tape to stick your gyro the plank. Prepare the surface of the plank with epoxy painted on the wood so you have a sticking surface.
The set up is simple. The gyro connects into the rudder output of your receiver. You then connect your noze gear & rudder into the gyro input. You may have to reverse the gyro and adjust it slightly depending on the brand you use. I used the JR "G500A" and it is a "plug & play". The rudder must turn into the "powered" engine to control the Yaw caused by an engine loss.. test it on the table by turning the plane. The rudder and gear will turn against your turn and if nor reverse the switch on the gyro. The gyro action must be against the turn action you make.
You also have a single gain connector that you must use to override the gyro. I cconnected it in the aux2 of the X9303 The gain adjustment is also simple you give 100% at position 0 to allow the gyro full control on the rudder (unless you use the rudder stick, this overrides the gyro gradually)
then on the second position (1) you give it 0% assist and you use the full rudder control "manual". The gain may be adjusted to 80% of gyro assist at all time and is more desirable.
You will also find the plane needs rudder in addition of the ailerons to turn in a coordinated manner. A mix of 20% rudder into the ailerons makes nice coordinated turns. This is the best set up. You leave the gyro assist at all time and you mix rudder into your ailerons and you always have the gyro guard and you do not have adverse yaw when you turn.
The hard part here is to install your plank level and centered with the CG and the centerline (longitudinal axis "roll axis" )
Read the instructions of your gyro so you understand it.
let me know how it went and do not hesitate to ask more info

As most of you know, a model is never "finished"...one just decides that enough has been done. I have reached that point! It's time to reintroduce myself to my wife...maybe motivate her to "finish" her 110" "Rosie the Rocketer". I've got some other projects that have been put off for far too long and as the foot & a half of snow on the ground looks like it's gonna be around for awhile...there's only one thing left to do with the B25...GO FLY!! Maybe some time next year! Here's a few pics of the final version. I hope it helps motivate some of you guys that are still "on the fence" about purchasing this model. Thanks again to Top Flight and Tim (Krproton) for a great platform that allows us to flex our modeling "muscle". Thanks also goes to Tim Thompson for the great pictures and commentary on his plane...his cockpit interior detail sets the bar pretty high. Kudos goes to Norman D. as well...I'm sure lots of guys have been following your flights with great interest. For those interested, there will be at least four (that I know of) TF B25's flying at the 5th annual "Warbirds Over Denver" this summer. Come join the gaggle!

Zac,
Can you imagine what FIVE of these baby's are gonna look and sound like in the air together? Last summer at Warbirds Over Denver we had eight P51's flying a gaggle formation...it was AWESOME to say the least...but a gaggle of B25's? It staggers the imagination! I can't wait!!!
