I don't know about aerodynamic.. it is probably more chassis dynamic... when you are letting off throttle, you shift the weight to the front, and the rear becomes loose...

I say if you really want to test it, you should hold a constant throttle (for high and low speed) and turn to see how they compare.... !!

Yeah, there is that weight transfer thingy too, but it is way better to drive with this courage body.

btw, Liquidrc just shipped the viper.

I had a similar problem with mine. It was like the bearing didnt belong so I just left it out. I only ran it a couple times but it dosnt seem to be a problem. How did you fix your problem or did you just leave the paper in there.

Hi, yes i left the paper in there , and i have used the car well over 3 hours since that, and the paper is still in there.
Another option is to place a piece of tape there, it would last longer.

If you really need to shim, use teflon tape.. that will probably work well!

hey, if you get a chance check out my pic on page 36 towards the bottom and let me know if thats how yours looked. I couldnt really tell from your video. Maybe we didnt have the same problem though, my problem was that gap betwwen the spur and next peice caused by the bearing. I took it apart put it back together and nothing. The bearing just seems to be to wide for that space. I dont remember but was there anywhere else in the kit that used similar sized bearings? and the 2 bearings on the opposite sides of the spur gear are supposed to be the same size correct?

it does not look anything like mine, however if the bearing feels just a bit too large, you could put it in freezer for a while (this will temporarly shrink the bearing) , and put the plastic part somewhere warm(on top of a radiator?), and then insert the cold bearing into the warm plastic part then. -if you followed the instructions it should go in nicely.

If this will not work, maby you could dissassemble the parts again and take a picture of the parts that shows parts the same order what you did to put it together.

Can you show me the opposite side of this piece? http://kuvablogi.com/nayta/955541/ I think this is where the problem is it is not enough room for the bearing.

This is how mine looks can you see how high the bearing is sitting out of it. In order for it to fit it would have to be almost unseen from a side view.

I apologize for cursing Tamiya for making defective parts. The instructions could be better but I guess since they have to put the manuals in so many languages. Anyway somehow there was a black spacer in the area the bearing was supposed to be. Its been like that since I opened the package and it fits perfectly in that space so it looked like it belonged. I was picking at it and all of the sudden it popped out[X(]. This is my first build so Im so relieved that its finally how its supposed to be. Wow lLB you sounded a little pissed with that comment. Check the pictures and youll see what I mean. Thanks everyone for all the comments and help, I have two batteries on the way from tower and the weathers starting to warm up so hopefully I can get a video up showing how bad I drive. lol

LOL, I am never pissed talking about RCs.. good job getting that done! Nice job on the first build!! [sm=thumbs_up.gif] (for real, I wouldn't call it the easiest first build..)

My first built was a Hornet in the mid-80s... LOL! Yeah, I am old... [:@]

Sheeesh this thread has been the biggest help to me so no big deal. Actually it was a lot easier than I thought it would be. I just need to invest in some RC tools, would make things much easier, and not panic and I think my next build would be smoother. Thanks again
