RE: Official Tamiya TT-01 Thread
The 28T pinion is made by Carson, a company from Germany(?) which make parts for the TT01 cheap. The motor I run is a Tamiya Typre RR motor (high RPM) with a TEU-302 ESC (high amp puller). I like to keep everything Tamiya. The motor has a Heatsink and doesn't get too hot.

Hey Rare, do you think a powerful BL system would tear up my TB 01? I know pinion and spur are similar between TT and TB, but I think I have stronger diffs. Is this the weak point on the TT's?

RE: Official Tamiya TT-01 Thread
So heres what i got. As most of you have read i have my TT01 out fitted with the mamba max 7700 and its killer. No complants from me. But when i got the TT01 kit it also came with a ESC and motor that i've since put into my HPI Sprint. I know it's not much but i have it set up for drift. I figure i could try and have the best of both worlds. Somethings that extremly fast and something to drift with. My only problem now is that the motor that came with the TT01 is way to slow and has no torque to make my Sprint drift. So my question to you guys is, whats a nice cheap motor with good torque that i can use to get this thing to drift better?

I use those hard compound tires from tamiya that come with the TT01 subaru kit for drifting. I just need a better motor something with some more power. Any suggestions?

I tried using PVC and it didn't work out so well. But then again i was also using it with mamba max set up and i think it was just too much power. Now that i think about it, PVC on that stock motor just might work. thanks i'll look into that.

Stock Teu101-bk can handle anything down to 23turns.
Abs ad pvc are fu if you want difting to be easy; beacuse you have eliminated all grip. There is no 'traction' that you can 'break' beacause as soon as te car starts to move it is (supposedly) 'drifting'.
Stick with somehing with a little grip and you will feel more like you actually achieved some skill level.

RE: Official Tamiya TT-01 Thread
lol..little update on my TT-01
Added deans and got [link=http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXUF43&P=SD]this[/link] charger for $25 in the scratch and dent at tower, only had box damage, 'tis the same charger Benthehen has..
Also got the sport tuned motor.
Soon I plan on getting the tamiya drift tires, which will probably be my last upgrade for a while, because i'm planning on getting a Super Clod Buster around christmas, but i'm going to start saving for it now lol...

k, what do you want to do? drifting or not?
u said you used the pvc tire, but the motor you got its too powerful. if you can control the throttle well. you can slideway a lot. that what drifting for me. if you're looking rally drifting type, then i cant help. tamiya drift tire will be good for you.
go on youtube.com search for rc drift. tell me that type of drifing is what ya looking for.
later

RE: Official Tamiya TT-01 Thread
i know what kind of drift i'm after. i had a great set up on my HPI Sprint. The only problem i had was the powerful brushless set up was ripping my belts all to hell, thats the main reason why i went with the TT01. But with a not so powerful set up now on the HPI car i can make that my drifter and use the TT01 for some high speed crazyness. i was buying new belts every two weeks for that thing. I was getting old changing them all the time.

Short of cutting the chassis in half and rejoining it after removing a couple of inches, no. The mini bodies fit on only the mini chassis (mo-4); even then it is a monopoly of codes to denote what length the chassis is!
What sort of body was it you were after? I can help you out on deciding on one which will fit.

The 19t motor may be alright for now but it will almost certainly overheat and this will shorten its life. 23T is what Tamiya recommend as that is what it is built to take. It may work with a 19t but it won't be as reliable nor will it work as efficiently as it can.
