Yep that is the one. Mastering all 4 hovering orientations will make everying a lot easier. Good to hear you are practicing them.

Nick,
Thanks for the links to Nick Maxwell's CPP. I have spent the last 45 minutes or so reading the whole thread on his setup...very interesting. It's amazing that not only is he a great pilot, he's also very intelligent on heli setup, and it sounds like he is relentless on his experimentation and trying new setups.
It is amazing what he was doing with CPP's 2 years ago... one interesting point was that the GWS motors he was using were ducted fan motors, 12 volt motors, which he said were more powerful.
Did you look at his profile and see the crashed heli with the tail control rod wrapped around the main shaft?? LOL, makes me feel a LITTLE bit better, knowing that he crashes too!
Sounds like he has LOTS of helis, he mentions a few T-Rexes, and a few CPP's he's working on...very dedicated to his hobby, or profession, I guess at this stage...
Very cool stuff. Glad to hear that you had some great videos for us to check out, I'll be looking forward to them.
I didn't fly today, too tired after work. Had a hard day, but made good money.
Hope you get some more great flights in.
Glenn

Heli,
Sounds good on the side in hovering. It took me quite some time before I was confident with side in hovering on both sides, I would get mixed up at times as to which side was which way.
I found side in to almost be more difficult to learn that nose in. With nose in, everything is just backwards...with side in, you have to learn both sides, and each one is different.
Don't get discouraged if it takes you a while to master hovering in all orientations, but as Nick and I have pointed out, it will help you tremendously in the long run, even if it takes along time to learn.
The simulator comes in very handy here, as it really doesn't matter what heli you are practicing with, the principals of hovering are consistent from one heli to the next.
Good luck, and get some rest....LOL

Nick,
Here is another video of Nick Maxwell with a T-Rex, with a small crash at the end...but until the crash, it's awesome!
Hope it's a new one you haven't seen yet.

Glenn,
I missed that point about the ducted fan motor. I read through it kind of fast.
Yeah I did check out his profile and saw his crashed helicopter. I wonder if he was flying a Quick helicopter since it said Quick on the canopy.
If I have time tomorrow or Wednesday I will upload the videos.
Where is the link to Nick Maxwell's video?

Glenn,
That's ok. Nope I haven't seen that video before. It looks like a good place to fly.
That was a cool piro flip at the end.
Hope you have a better day tomorrow and maybe get a flight or two in.

I don't know if you guys have seen the IRCHA videos on RCU yet, but I thought they were pretty cool. They are at the bottom of the page. The event video has a cool drag race and a race in a circle with six helicopters. Then the scale videos looked cool also.

RE: are these blades any good for cp pro?
Jeff,
I am all out of links of videos now. But there are a lot of good ones out there that I haven't seen yet.
Glenn,
I found that EDF50H tail motor. There aren't many places that carry it and most of them are over seas. But Advantagehobby has it. It is around $10, but it needs to be disassembled from the fan unit. It is weird that it isn't listed on GWS website. But if my motor ever burns out I think this will be the next motor I try. So far I have 42 flights with the motor from EBoyzToyz.

Nick,
That place that Nick is flying is his neighborhood park, right behind his house....must be nice, eh?
Cool that you found that ducted fan motor, that would be a cool thing to get for a next motor. I think at one point Nick said he had 75 or more flights on his, and we know they weren't easy flying!!

Sorry to hear you can't fly because of the weather. I am going to be busy today, so no flying for me either.
Glenn,
I didn't realize that was a park. I just thought it was his backyard.
Yeah I bet he wasn't taking it easy on the tail motor. I am suprised my GWS speed controller hasn't burned up yet since it isn't rated for 11.1V.

Nick,
Here's more pics and a video of the T-Rex 250 for ya, don't know if you've seen this one or not.
The video is in a office, looks like the 250 is a pretty stable little heli from watching it...

Glenn,
Yeah that is the same video on RCGroups, but I enjoyed watching it fly. I would hate to run into those computers. I really liked the blue Airwolf in the first picture.
I didn't have time to upload my videos today, but I should have all day tomorrow to upload them.

They haven't released a cost yet. But I would like to know also.
Oh I just found out my batteries just shipped. It took two days for them to ship it out.

RE: are these blades any good for cp pro?
I just went to thr new house last night, to start moving in and such, the backyard is going to be so sweet for flying the cp pro, sooo much room, 3 acres of free flying land, im really excited to move in. On another note its starting to get cold here, yesterday night it was in the 40's, so the typical zero degree new england winter weather is on its way.

hey nick, I saw you were talking about the hiller setup for the orignal cp in the other thread and how you said it makes it more stable, would you recommend it strongly and do you know the part number? I'm going to go pick one up at the lhs after work
