Mine still flying and it has been repaired several times. Almost lost on its 5th flight with a DLE 85 pulling to hard on the elevator the center wing support collapsed under load. Replaced wood and carbon support. Pulled the DLE 85 out as it was shaking it apart, replace with a GT80 and has plenty of power. There are so many flaws with this plane but it is a great flyer.

Yeah. Lots of people reinforce the wing tubes. look back in the forums. I reinforced my Zero and my now under construction, Top RC P47. Even though Electrics have nearly no vibration compared Gas engines, the extra weight can also stress the structure in high G maneuvers. I've pushed my Zero hard in Aerobatics and its very strong!.

Made some good progress over the last few weeks. Has anyone designed the exhaust tips in CAD? The ones the kit comes with are not so hot. I started working on the design tonight, but don't want to re-invent the wheel! Props to whoever came up with the L brackets on the cooling fins... worked really well! And the cowl mounts to the baffles... really clean....:-)

Hello Everyone,
I am new to this site, and new to warbirds. I have been flying aerobatic planes off and on since around 2000, and now have decided to make a move toward warbirds. I recently picked up a used Top RC Zero, and need some assistance since these are totally different than the aerobatic models I have flown for years. I have read through most of this thread and that has been a great help, but there are some basic questions I have. The plane I purchased has electric retracts and an EME-70 engine with a starter.
My first question is concerning batteries. I was considering running a Fromeco 5200 pack for receiver, ignition, and retracts. I have two leads on the Fromeco pack, one lead will go to the receiver/tech aero, and the other lead to the retracts, both with their own switches. The Fromeco pack will remain in the plane all the time. A second pack would be used for the engine starter. It is a 2200ma 3S LiPO, and I would remove it for charging purposes.
Please share your thoughts on the above. It may be obvious that I do not have a clue what I am doing.
Thanks!

Separating the retracts from the ign/ receiver pack would be a better choice . Electric retracts can stall and the instantaneous high load can cause a receiver to go into failsafe because of the short lived but sudden voltage drop . It will always happen at the absolute worst time .
