Default I saw this today and thought it was so cool I had to share it with you all.

This guy is a steelworker working on buildings for a living, but for fun he made this from scratch for his kid. It is not RC or motorized, but...
It’s all his own design, mostly made up as he went along, and is sized roughly 1/6th scale because he made it to fit a G.I. Joe. It has solar powered headlights that come on automatically at dark, operating doors and rear hatch, all with working latches. All the seats fold down and the rear cargo area has a compartment under the floor for stowage. It has a working sun roof. The dash gauges are detailed and the speedometer is actually a working thermometer. It has a good looking fake drive shaft and axles. Full sprung suspension, front and rear. Working steering linkage. Hand driven bumper winch. Tow hitch. ALL FROM REPURPOSED OR HAND MADE PARTS! License # MAD OLE 2018
The bottom picture also shows the hands that made the "Jeep".

That is some work! I know I wouldn't have been able to let go of something like that when I was a kid.

Just a quick hello! I posted also over in the "cars, trucks, buggies, and more" off topic forum as well. Not sure if that was the "main forum" or not. There's definitely a lot of boards to this website.

Looking into RC tanking, not an owner yet, but hope to be soon when Amazon restocks the tank I've been saving up for. Meanwhile, I've been lurking for a few months absorbing all the info I can.

Thank you! I've had my eye on the Heng Long 1/16 Sherman base model (plastic parts). I'm kind of stuck having to buy it through Amazon because I already have a decent amount of Amazon credit saved up. It seems like every time the Sherman is available on Amazon though, they only have a handful and the price has been seeming to go up by a few bucks each time. It's currently out of stock now, but I think I've got enough saved up to nab it when it goes up for sale again.

I've been into tanks for a while and have been building/playing the "Tanks!" wargame by Gale Force 9. Going to be a shock going from 1/100 scale to 1/16. LOL

OH DUDE! You will be hooked soon for sure. One tank is not enough. Nobody actually knows how many tanks is enough. Good luck, and ask questions when you need help.

ThurmanMerman'sSherman you will enjoy it I,m sure. I just started into tank's as well, and got the Heng Long Sherman, as well as the HL Abrams for Christmas. The Sherman was fine but the Abrams had a few issues. The tank wouldn't sound or rock when shooting the cannon. Luckily it was just a loose connection after opening the tank it was a easy fix. Also the gimbals for the radio were missing from the box. Looking to get the Taigen Tiger 1 medal version later this year so I guess I'm HOOKED.

Oh trust me, I know what you mean. I play the TANKS! tabletop game and already own like 25 little 15mm tank models. I already know what RC tanks I'd love to own after the Sherman.

Well, my HengLong Sherman is sitting in a box on my parent's front porch while I'm here at work. I have my packages delivered there because they have a camera to monitor packages rather than leaving them all alone and unguarded at my house. Hope to post some pictures tonight or tomorrow!

I ended up snagging a HL Tiger I off Amazon this weekend and it will be arriving sometime either this week or next week. Can't wait to see how much bigger than the Sherman it is since they're on the same scale. I thought the Sherman was a big RC tank...
