NOTE TO THE COMPUTER ENGINEERS WHO ARE IN CHARGE OF THIS WEBSITE.

This is the most frustrating website it has ever been my misfortune to use! Most of the time, if I want to add a picture to my reply on the thread, "Old Timers Look here..." I am unable to do so because the "Task Bar," if that's what it's called, has disappeared. This is the bar which offers a contibutor the opportunity to write in bold or italics, to link to another thread or to add pictures. I have taken to calling this facility "the buttons" because I have had absolutely no training in IT and I'm not absolutely sure of the correct nomencature.

This morning the site excelled itself. I found that I had access to "the buttons" but when I wanted to quote from Flyboy's Post 12102, they disappeared!

I regularly post on four other websites, one American (RC Groups), one British and two French and I never have problems linking text to pictures on any of those.

Please sort this out!

I don't think they have engineers, just a 15 year old with spots!

my main issue is email notifications. they are very erratic, and don't always take you to the post referred to.

I had a reply to 12104 from a Joel Morris stating that the website doesn't like my Firefox browser but I've got the buttons back this morning so here goes.

Is this what you meant in 12102 Flyboy?

The airplane appears to have aged better than the pilot.

The top picture was taken by my mother in her garden. I can date this to the Spring of 1998 or 1999. Note the tulips in the flower bed and the jacket I am wearing. I bought that jacket from a lady I was working with who sold them as a sideline and I only worked for that organisation during those two years, besides, my mother died in February 2000 so it couldn't have been any later.

The lower picture was taken at my current club's flying field. Note the tarmac runway in the background. I retired to France in June 2015 so it could not have been any earlier. In 1998 I was fifty years old and in 2015 I would have been sixty-seven.

The Telemaster was given to a clubmate. I haven't seen it since.

PS. I've lost the buttons again Mr Morris.

Default Brotherhoodofthering flyOhthon.

I know that we have a U Control section on our web. But I thought I would spread the info about the U Control flyohthon in October first weekend of 2024. It's all about the Sterling Ringmaster. But other clones are allowed. 5 Laps qualifies as a good flight the 2023 flyohthon had 8 500. Flights world wide and this year they are looking for 10.000 flights in the 17th year. This is world wide and the participation is great from all points around the world. Well still have lots of time to build and prepair. They have a website to see all about this year's flyohthon. AJ

Yup!
From the Waylon Jennings song "Amanda":
I've held it all inward, God knows, I've tried,
But it's an awful awakening in a country boy's life,
To look in the mirror in total surprise.
At the hair on my shoulders and the age in my eyes.

I like Toby Keith's "I Ain't As Good As I Once Was," which was on a similar theme.

I ain't as good as I once was
I got a few years on me now
But there was a time, back in my prime
When I could really lay it down
If you need some love tonight
Then I might have just enough
I ain't as good as I once was, but I'm as good once
As I ever was

I've got the "buttons" this morning on Firefox!

My club will be hosting an exhibition over the weekend of 2nd and 3rd March and we've asked other local clubs to participate. I plan to show my Big Guff, my BE2e, at least one of my Barons, the Mystic in the course of construction, and the ARTF SIG Kadet Senior clone with the Laser engine.

I had been having some problems with the running of the Laser in the Kadet Senior so I removed the engine and ran it up on a test stand. It performed perfectly so I assumed that the problem must lie with the fuel supply so I removed the fuel tank. This involved removing the throttle servo which had been glued into place but having removed the tank I found out that the fuel feed had disconnected itself and was lying in the bottom of the tank which was more than half full of fuel! Repaired with new tubing I'm hoping to get the model into the air again at the first opportunity.

I will take my camera and post pictures of the exhibition once the "buttons" become available again!

Well, that came out full size. I'll shrink it down and repost here.

That seems better. And the buttons are still here. But I've used Firefox for such a long time.

Ok, and now back in Firefox with no buttons. I did get some flying time just at or after sunset today. The wind went down and though it was a bit hard to see I got out and did some low flying trying not to get too far away. I almost tagged two of my trees, my neighbors birdhouse thats up on a 15 foot pole and I don't know how close I got to my two Dogwood trees on the other side of my drive way. In the end I was doing figure eights out in front and finally called it quits. Thats when I noticed the control board on it has a Red light down under the cockpit somewhere SO too dark to fly safely. Barely got out in time. My UMX Timber has flying lights, wish this one did to BUT I think that's a 2 cell design.
Started the day off taking my tiller to my neighbors garden and doing a hundred dollars of work so NOW, do I buy that P-47 they have to play around in the front yard with? OR spend it on other planes. I need to start my Skyray 35 CL kit and finish the Nobler I started last fall BUT I have to gut my bedroom at the end of this week so that they can rip out this filthy carpet and put in laminate flooring. Then reload my bedroom/office AND then start unloading HER Office, paint it, and get it ready for the flooring job in the following two weeks. Took me two days to do MY room, needed two coats and I changed out all the old sockets/switches n such as they were a mix of ivory and white and the Ivory just didn't work with the new color.
Luckily, I have everything in my garden tilled so it's just a matter of putting things in come time.
But for now, the cat wants me to jiggle this mouse on a stick toy.
