Mine came with what I believe to be his first generation of struts that he made or had made for the kit. They came with behotec C50 retracts that had been converted to electric by GZ electric retracts in Austria. But 2 of the motors were Chinese knock offs so I sent back to GZ electric retracts with robart wheels and GZ replaced the motors with his and also mounted the electromagnetic brakes from GZ on mine

Roydefiant, do you still have the HE 162? I built one a couple of years ago and have yet to do the maiden flight. Planned to do the maiden in April this year, but the lockout has me off the field.
My kit is a century's jet. Also made it of the Red 1 Nervenklau, even thou changed the name to "Emily". Emily was my dog who passed away after a long illness when I was finishing the model.
Hope you still have yours flying well. In the video takeoff and landing approach looked fine and very stable. Also in mine i covered the tail center with aluminum tape.

I have no experience with CJM He162 but can share what I have learned as well as from my friends Arnim in Germany and Vin in Arizona.
1. On takeoff, hold full up elevator during entire takeoff roll.Full throw for you will be based upon the recommended throws from kit manufacturer. There is a lot of downward force on nose gear and will become unstable at high speed unless you unweight it by holding up elevator.
2. As soon as wheels off ground, retract gear. The large main gear doors are giant rudder appendages and may create problems trying to turn if doors open
3. Before landing, slow model down. Mine is like real one. Partial flaps do not interfere with landing gear deployment but if full flaps are down before the landing gear is the main gear doors will come up and hit flap. Of course on mine it is a mechanical linkage to gear strut that is the issue. If you use a separate control to main door probably not an issue. Make sure hinges to main gear doors well secured. If not gear door will tear off in flight.
4. On approach do straight line to runway. Go to full flaps when slowed down and straight. I keep about 20% power till over runway and then go to idle and keep flaring to keep slight nose high attitude.
5. Recommend gyro on nose gear and especially on ailerons
6. Be very careful with CG. This model will not tolerate a rearward CG or tail heavy condition.
Yes I still have my He162. Always turns heads when I bring it out. Fun to fly but I am very careful to just do smooth flying, nothing radical. I never try to fly it in a crosswind.
Good luck

Hi Roy
Interesting that this thread was revived. I just dragged my Massinger Heinkel out after sitting for 6 months. I put 8 flights on it this past weekend. I have the cg moved way back and it’s doing fine. I’m not sure exactly how far back it is but when i get my xicoy back I’ll check it and let you know.
