Thanks! I did redo the rivets with an 1/8" ball end mill and the dremel before the next coat of paint, lol. I'll get another pic when complete. Have to admit, it's amazing the maker never found the hitch in those parts..

Chinese ARF.
the mounting blocks in my H9 mustang stabs were missing in action..
I fixed it, but not happy with the skin repair so more work to do on it.
Its the nature of it. Irritating as it is...

Thanks Werner. I hope it helps. That's the great thing about these posts, where we can give each other some ideas!

What's the max deflection/angle you guys are using for the landing flaps? Trying to keep the servo arm as short as poss without short changing the flap travel and servo strength. With 1" arms I'm able to get about 50 deg. Thanks.

I'll probably just go with 1.250" then. With that length I can get 65° to the chord or roughly 70° to the bottom of the wing. I can always go shorter later, but can't make the arms longer once they're shortened. Thanks for the help.

This was another contact spot I ran into with the flaps (on both wings). A few photos to show the fix. The top gets slotted the the end plate is shifted over and glued in the new location. Then the excess edge is reshaped and touched up.

Just got mine about a month ago, so still building. Someone must have flown one because I read a comment recently that the factory suggested CG was on the money. Sure would love to see a video of a flight though..

Saw some posts today on the TopRC Model Facebook page, where 2 people posted they recently maidened there P47s. One put up a video and the plane flew great. Both said they needed little or no trim and apparently the factory CG is good! So, good news.

My Feedback: (23)
Ran into a major problem with my TopRC P-47.
When I cycle the gear up or down I get MASSIVE interference with the control surfaces; the ailerons, flaps, elevator, and rudder begin to move erratically totally disconnected from the transmitter.
I'm using a Spektrum IX12 transmitter and a Powersafe 12 channel receiver.
I have no idea what the problem could be. The controls work fine, up until the gear is activated.
I did find one thing while trying to find the problem, and that is it is not as massive when I disconnect the tailwheel retract; but I am still getting movement on all the surfaces.
Anyone know what is up or what to do to fix this; is anyone else using Spektrum equipment on their bird?

Try a different reciever. See if it does the same thing.
I fly Frsky equipment, but if its happening to all reciever channels, the reciever is a good place to start. Is your throttle servo twitching too?
If different reciever doesn't resolve, then you basically got some dirty rf coming off of something. Typically, when this happens, its seen from the engine ignition, but there can be other causes. Do you have an optical kill on the engine?

For all intents and purposes. I would say .100" removed from the aileron length will get clearance on all but full aileron deflection of around 35 deg. The upside to that is, there is probably something very wrong happening if your deploying the flaps during a high rate roll, lol. If the flaps are already deployed, you can use all the aileron deflection you need to.

Sorry Mike, I don't use Spektrum..
I was wondering if anyone was able to mount the gear cover that is attached to the fuse without the hinge showing. If so, can tell me what hinges you used and maybe post a photo of the install, thanks!
