Don't think so. The engine that quit on me was from AMR. The engine that is running fine (so far) in the Waco is from Hobbyking. Only difference so far has been the purchase costs.

Thanks I ordered the asp 180 muffler now I need to see how to get a adapter made
I take that this motor fires every rotation even on the exhaust rotation.

I was pleasantly surprised when I received my motor today. It came in a new box and now comes with a metal motor mount and the motor is put together with gaskets on both sides of insulator . Much better than the one I bought 2 years ago. Here are some pics.
It does not come with the back plate to use standoffs. I ordered custom made standoffs and didn't know they made this change.

I wonder why they dont include a muffler . Now days with everyone getting all bent out of shape with noise it would be included . Its good to see that there making some improvements . Let us know how it runs compared to your other one . Its starting to look like they want to be around for the long run . Cheers the pope

Ran it for 3 hr today. 1/2 gallon gas. Started right up couple of flips ran 7300 with XOAR 18X8 prop .
This will be going in a 16 pound scratch built stik.
Using 35 to 1 Pennzoil for break in.
How it started so easy for me I put a little gas in the exhaust pipe and turned it over a couple of time.
The new mount seems solid.

After a gallon of gas it went down in performance. Only get 7000 to 7100 rpm now. it wont idle below 2700 consistent , even if I retard the spark. I didn't assemble this one so I will take carb apart and check gasket for air leaks. I did adj valves and they are good. My other one idled at 1800 all day after 1/4 gallon gas. Yes I was easy on it when I broke it in just like my other one.
Even at 2700 idle is okay I just wanted to idle lower. It starts missing when it gets to low. You can here it drop out.

That was it. the 2 gaskets was leaking. now 7340 on 18x8 runs 1800 without a hiccup. Plus what I found the gaskets where wet all over not a good seal. I replaced them with 2 zenoah g26 gaskets and the plastic heat spacer is con caved so you need to sand and flatten.
Now I am happy rock solid idle now
12:14 still running and getting 7300 rpm high.
12.50 still running.
1:30 shut it down got 7400 leaned out on top end.
Wonder why dle and all gas motors have low compression. Cost to much to do. All my glow motors have high compression.

Just ran my re-conditioned GF38 on a Xoar 19 x 8 wooden prop. I wanted to drop the rpm a bit for the storch. It ran well, still putting out 6700 rpm at max chat. I think I will fly it on this prop. I will stick with the 18 x 8 on the Waco since that is flying just fine.

Ordered some parts from just engines and WOW they are expensive. I wanted some gaskets 52 bucks shipping. Why wont some one in the US carry parts for this or better yet why Hobby king don't carry basic gaskets, Hobby king sells the cam for 20 bucks and just engines sells for 66 bucks what a mark up.

Mine is loose tell I tightened it. No problem with it. If I remember my 1st one felt loose but never had a problem. There is a YouTube video of a guy with loose threads too.

I called him and he check a newer engine he had and they where lose feeling. So he grabbed an older one on the shelve and he said it fit good. Doesn't look like they carry any parts for the 38cc
