Last of the leads finished, 8 pin retract connection for the retracts/brakes and four extension leads for the Ailerons/Flaps.

Just about done. Little tidying to do on the install (and shop!) everything programmed on my Core...15 mins! Final completely dry weight is 10.25kg (22.55lb) ready for a few turbine runs and our lockdown to finish, then it can be test flown.

Evo ready to fly when we are allowed again.
Ended up with Powerbox Powerpak 2500 batteries in the retract opening either side. That and a 3700 2s 50c ECU pack at the forward canopy opening balances perfectly at my preferred 230mm.

We are all waiting to get back to sky. I couldn't track your Ultra Flash with your Jetcat 160, would be interesting to see how fast this one can go with Jetcat 130, though I know they deliver 150N &more,
One question, you used combination of JR DS8911, 8911 + NX8935, what voltage you have on your system?

Li-Po on ECU and Li-On PB Rx batteries (one of which supplies the retracts too)
The Powerbox Powerpaks have built in balance circuits so can be easily charged in place.

After the crash of my twelve year old bvm bobcat .
i'm looking at the ultra flash evo.
and powered by a jetcat p130rx😁
liking the art scholl scheme
Gathering parts i'm now looking wich servo's to use
because jr propo 8411 are no longer sold.
any expirience with jr/dfa servo's
or is there another brand like macgregor servo's or savox?
on the 8411 i had the hd servo arm's.
Does the macgregor or savox have these as well?
or does the standard that come with them work?
and on landing gear side
I have alway's had air retracts and now these day's electric is the way to go what brand JP or electron?

the tail is now modified to just take 20mm thick servos. So your choice. Bizarrely the lower cost MacGregor servos come with good quality nylon arms, the 28, 37 and 55kg don’t!
Savox arms nylon and metal are junk…but 25tooth std spline gives you the choice.
I have the JP gear and I’m still happy with it after approaching 50 flights. If you depend on braking then the Electron controller/brakes are the best. I land slow enough not to worry about brakes! Grass there is no difference really so either.

so if i understand and looking at your site
The macgregor MG5921 HV 20.3kg is a good servo?
i mostly fly of grass bud some time's a concrete runway .
so i wil decide when i order the kit

its a budget servo, but we have good results over more than two years. I’ve never sold any for an Ultra Flash type model, usually people use the brushless 6928.

Yes, the Evo is slightly different as the one piece tank moves the balance further back than the twin tanks on low fuel, so balance it 235-240mm with landing fuel in the ‘sump’
Movement/expo is pilot specific, I like powerful controls damped with Expo. But as any UF all control surfaces are powerful, so you can run smaller overall movement and still have good control. Ailerons need more down than up movement, if measured at tip intersection 1/16” more down than up.
Go Ailerons 10mm up, 11.5 down, Elevator 12mm up and down and rudder max you can get for a first flight then adjust. I would stick minimum 30% expo on ail/ele too. (I run more than these figures)
Flaps around 20-22mm take off with 1mm down mixed in. Landing I like loads, 100+mm with 4mm down. Balance and crow etc will vary this.
For pure KE you are going to need a couple of percent opposite rudder to aileron. Left rudder means right aileron/vice verse

After having several Ultra Flashes…. Today I placed my order for the evo version (Art Scholl) Scheme. Decided to use electron retracts and will power the jet with either JM122NG or X120. Will use MKS servos, Cortex Pro (of course), REX12 with REX3 clone and MAP 4oz UAT…

Thrust tube
Finally have received my kit and started putting it together.
Thanks for letting me borrow your scheme Dave Wilshere, I love it 😍
My kit has the wings and tail painted in the mold, but the fuse painted afterwards (so no seam).
And I'm impressed : the paint work is second to none. It would almost take a braille reader to detect a paint line on the fuse.
About the thrust tube : since it fits snugly in the tail cone, and the tail cone is what holds the tube in place at the rear, how do I cool the rear end of the plane?
Do cut some small vents in the tail cone to get some airflow going through the back end of the plane?
Biggest gripe so far: the predrilled holes for the rudder servo were off...it took me about 4 hours to get the servo in and the slot cut in the vertical stabiliser.
I came very close to just taking out the servo mount, and just starting over with properly centered holes.
