Hello All!

I've been ''paid'' for a building project with a started mostly covered Ultimate 10-300. Good deal with an engine and fiberglass cowl. But I'm going to to strip it down, clean things up and go with my own color scheme.

Please let me claim #55 the year I was born and the age I am. That way I can track how long it takes me to get this thing flying.

Tom in OKC

Hello Tom:

So you are 55 from 55, this year should be your lucky year, any way I wish the best for you and your projects.
Welcome to the Brotherhood.

I hope you can be able to post some pictures of this next project of yours.

You are officially # 55.

Thanks for check in.

Alfred.

Is their something I have to do.I don't see anything ?

Charlie111, you are officially # 39 of the Carl Goldberg Ultimate Brotherhood.
Do you have a project?, photographs of your Ultimate? or maybe you just like this great biplane.

Some users have posted very nice pictures of their Ultimates, some of them have even posted the link to their building threads, they are very interesting and rewarding in knowledge, there are many members which have built more than 1 Ultimate kit (up to 13 as I know), if you have questions about your build or want to access to any specific building thread, do not hesitate and ask your question, there are many members that will be very glad to help.

Good luck.

I'm building my scratch 10-300 Ultimate:
specs are
ws=76"
engine=DA85
servos=9
scale=1/3
I can post some build pictures if you guys want to see the details of the build. Or should I put it in a separte thread?
I also have all the parts patterns for the CG Ultimate and I make fiberglass wheel pants , cowl. I also make Landing gear and canopy for both the CG Ultimate and my larger one that I scratch building.

IMHO I suggest both ways, making a new building thread of your own, can be a great resource of elements, ideas, materials etc. that you keep handy and posting often your advances in the Brotherhood with the link to your own thread can be a good idea to keep all members aware of your new project.

That is a huge project; I believe that nobody here wants to miss it.

Alfred.

Thankyou Very much It won't be long before that bird of mine takes flight.I'm pretty shure of the motors I am using and they say it can be done with a simple splitter I hope.The motors and props were the only thing he had in electric motors and props..The Iron Eagle said that there was a pretty tuff E.S.C. I should use I'm still not quite sure on the motor but a 4 ounce motor sounds good? Most of the weight is the battery.The motors are basic brushed motors and don't rev. at all.The auto resistor did'nt help much.I might just as well wired a toaster inline.Thanks.I'll be back Charlie

Well, I'm back in the game. Scored that CG 60" un-assembled ARF noted here earlier, and hopefully I'll have a NIB CG 54" kit here shortly. I took a chance on that one-post wonder who advertised it; the discourse with him has been... interesting.

Unlikely; too many projects ahead of it. The larger ARF will probably get done first. I'll save the kit for when I retire (again). But, by gum, I've got 'em in the stash. I even found my old copy of Higley's Bipes...

I tried to get a copy of the book when I was assembling mine, although I didn't get it, I was lucky to receive many great advices.

Steve, enjoy your build and post your projects.

Hello everyone,

Just started working on the wings and noticed that there are two different rib #3's. One has two openings that are round/oval and the other #3 has two punchouts and are not oval.

I'm not finding anything in the plans that says which location these two different #3 ribs go.

I've added a photo of what I'm trying to explain.

Thanks!

I've built a few of these but I don't have my plans in front of me but I think they were in the center and or out where the platform slid into them for the aileron belcranks. I did'nt use the bellcranks I mounted the servos in the wing so I custom built that area and didn't really pay attention to those slots.

Put the plan on the table and follow the original linkage, you will find out the difference between all rib just because the purpose of the linkage.
You also will find out that, when using the original linkage system, those balsa parts that come out at those ribs are needed to secure the rod.
As Frecuentflyer said, they are useless now, since we install two aileron servos (one for each aileron, on bottom wing).
I have read many posts from people that have built the bipe with the original bell crank system and they all said that it works fine, just takes a bit more tune to make them work fine, regardles of the extra rattle noise that comes with that system.

Good luck on your build and remmember on posting pics of your build is simple great when ever it is possible.

Alfred.

Alfred, I guess I'll jump ahead and take #59 if it's still there, otherwise whatever is next. My pictures are on film before digital, so I'll have to get some scans done.

It was me I traced the parts, I made canopy mold, wheel pant, and the cowl mold. I also made a 75" version with some small changes for 85 cc gas engine. You will have to PM me.
