Rare what would u recommend then. remembering its a TT-01 with ali prop, ballraced but standard acoms servo and tamiya speed controller.I only really wanna a bit more speed not loads i dont wanna install a motor that will destroy my esc or gears lol thanks for your help and soz for the noob questions just rather ask before buying anything and destroying my tt01 lol
I can go up to 50 pounds if needed but not wrecking the car is main concern really []
i read somewhere you can go to 19T before any problems occur is that right or bad advice??
thanks [8D]

my advice is, shop around for whatever parts you get, often abroad is the best bet (for small bits) that aint gonna cost loads to ship. i have about 8 websites i check to see which is cheapest! i love a good deal!

check out www.modelsport.co.uk

for £50 you do not want a tamiya motor, you could get a 7X1 motor
*cough*overkill*cough*
i know it's overkill, i was just giving him a comparasin in price

The Tamiya Sports Tuned is best suited to the TT-01's in my opinion with 22 or 23/58 gearing.

Running macthed packs the Sports tuned has more than enough power to spin the wheels until top speed, of around 30mph geared right.

for drifting, i would reccomend the HPI Saturn 20T

it is a direct replacement for the HPI drift car

Yes, I find the 22or23/58 is best because it had the best acceleration to top-speed between all the ratio's.

ola guys im back again after a looonnnggggg absince.

update and thoughts, broke a front upright this weekend (still dont know how) so tip[s for the new guys, when you buy a adjustable upper arm set and you get those copper bal screw things, do NOT attach them to the botton front uprights. they scratch and brake the upright. unless you race on perfect track.
also everyone, do yourself the favour of getting GPM's alloy parts for the tt01, the are not expensive, but damn they are as light if not lighter than the standard plastic parts easier to install and i whole lot stronger, i got the alloy front uprights on right now in red and they also look awesome. will be installing ALL the gpm parts in the next few weeks.
I just became the distributor/importer of gpm into south africa and i must say i am impressed with the parts.

Also if you wanna spoil yourself and your esc hadles it, get a Lrp Gt3 17t double motor, this thing rocks!! it is just so fast, i went from the 19t to 17t this weekend and damn the difference is amazing.

guys now a question: I geared the car at 23/58 and it just flew (acceleration and topspeed), then stripped the gear with a stone (damn parking lot rocks!!), now i installed 25/55 which should give me a damn fast top speed, but i aint getting it!!, what could be wrong, any ideas?

It is just geared to tall for the motor to push, that's called voer gearing.

Go back down to 23/58.

They only need to be snug, don't over do the screws.
