Ran my TT-01 for a while today.

Had to huck the chassis a little to get a pack to fit (damn IB3800 cells are too large I'm finding and needs a touch of modding).

Pretty annoyed aswell as I only just found out my mum cleaned the shed yesterday when a high pressure water blaster, and she doesn't give a toot about my RC's, spray sand and water at high pressure into the car and all my gear (yes including that body I spent hours doing, it now has sand stuck in it). Pretty pissed off.

I got out of it once before, but never sold anything. Selling this stuff is a lost cause when it is used. The truck that is pulling the trailer in the build off thread is one of them I kept. Keep the stuff and pass it on or use it later but never sell out.

Hey all. I am new to the Universe. After flying RC gliders, electric planes, and the Blade CX I decided to try a car for fun. I picked up a Tamiya TT-01 yesterday. I got the RTR version. I figured that it would be a nice starting point and I could upgrade things as I get time with the car.
Initial impressions. It is a nice car, but needs a lot more speed. It is not much faster than some less expensive "toy" RC cars. The handing is pretty cool, and it drifts very well.
Looking forward to upgrading it. Glad to see that is there is a lot of knowledge out there.

the difference between the TT-01 and a toy car is, its properly upgradeable into a very decent on road machine, granted, the silver can isnt the fastest!

It took me a second to make the Red Bull connection It will be fun upgrading the silver can.
I'll start some changes to the car next weekend, when I get time.

bigmik, I know that this isn't a painting thread but did you cut those masks on the body? if so, how did you manage not to leave marks on the body from the hobby knife?

I've tried to cut a mask with from tape on the body directly and it always leaves deep marks on the body that I can see after I'm done painting. Any tips?

motor heatsink with fan possibly ecu fan as well

basically I want to setup a parking lot racer/drifter using the best of what i can do with the stock ecu, the car will be run for long periods of time basically from battery start to finish

Is this a good setup for that and will i need to worry about overheating much with that gearing? and if anyone has a setup like this what kind of top speeds do u get

thanks bigmik, I appreciate it. I have a new Porsche 911 body that I want to try doing something fancy with. I just bought a compressor and I'm going to get an airbrush off of ebay to do a 4-5 color shell. I want to try flames or something like what you did. Thanks again!

Don't go cheap out with the air brush.

Mine cost me $100 just for the airbrush. No hoses or anything.

Hey guys, I just got my TLU-01 and the 02 is on it's way over to me. This is going on the Gallardo body to make the full effect of the lights. I'm really confused looking at the manual. Anyone have experience with the TLU-02? I'm wondering how to get the LED's to flash like strobes.

Man, I'm a real horrible driver. I just broke that bracket mount that holds the A arms. -_-' as you see it looks allot dirtier on the picture. Could it be the cold weather down here in LA? Plus how the heck do you guys drive? I just keep gunning it on burst and power slide all over the place till i hit something (not meaning to do intentionally). lol

nope... after i went off-roading with this car. Tried to clean everything... still came out with a residue. bleh.

bah. you don't need to clean a tt-01 a little dust isn't going to hurt it. these thigns were meant for punishment

Also getting two new packs, and a new airbrush hose. I'm hoping with the bodies I have to paint for a few people I make a few dollars. If not oh well. Gotta love airbrushing Hate masking though [:@]
