ORIGINAL: stealthbomber

What do i need to use the urethane bumper and regular touring shells? -is there tamiya ones or only aftermarket ones?

If some1 has links/part# i would appreciate it!

are thease all i need ?

F103GT-13/WO Graphite Rear Body Post Support For Tamiya F103GT http://www.stellamodels.net/catalog/...oducts_id=2497
F103GT-05/WO Graphite Bumper Stiffener For Tamiya F103GT http://www.stellamodels.net/catalog/...oducts_id=2457
49462 TA05 Urethane Bumper (BlacK) http://www.stellamodels.net/catalog/...oducts_id=3092

And what is the width of the gt, widest point, on stock rims ? -what is their offset? (need 2 find right offset wheels for 200mm shell)

You are looking for 5mm offset wheels ? Forget it , doesn't excist if you ask me. Why would you want to use 200mm shells anyway.
With the part above ( rear body post support ) you have all you need to mount any 190mm touring shell you like.

I have few 200mm bodies on TT-01 and i use 3mm offset rims on it -it is still too little offtset!. -also i think that wider is better for handling and looks.

from your response i get that the gt is 190mm wide? .the same that tt-01 is -then all i need is 3mm offset rims and use the bit wider hexes -on 190mm bodys.

And if i use 200mm body do i get the 6mm offset rims or what? -are stock ones 0 ?

-The RX-7 body -(190mm wide body) witch came with the tt-01 kit, i use 3mm offsets on all corners -shown here with the 3mm offset rims on tt-01 (at 2m45s) http://www.youtube.com/user/RangerPate , and it looks way better then stock rims that dissapiers inside the fenders. -thease fit still nicely in there, no rubbing.

so i need largest offset ones that will fit.

and if i want to use the urethane bumper, what do i need to buy?

I see. The stock one's are +1 if i'm not mistaking. The widest rims available are +3 I think.

Talking about parking lot bashing nice video.

To mount the urethane bumper you'll need the bumper support ( isn't that included with the kit ?? ) , I can't remember because it has been a while since I've built mine. And I use a GT body , not the original but aftermarket.

You see : the original one is still clear and unused :

Default RE: The Official - Tamiya F103GT - Racing Thread

Greetings,

I just wanted to say Hello to all and introduce myself as I have finally found the right forum. I am new to RCuniverse, but not new to the hobby. I used to race 1/10 and 1/12 on-road when both were 6 cell and 1/10 on-road was still 2wd, and more challenging than driving one of those 4wd Touring car monsters. I am not knocking the TC, anyone who may take offense, I just did not like it when the PRO-10 class died. I raced in Europe (Germany and Italy) mainly, until the Tamiya Euro-cup was introduced, and offered me a more cost efficient way of racing, namely the F101. I progressed up to the F103 chassis through the years, also participating the the Keil (German Associated and Yokomo distributor) F1 cup with a HPI Super F1, and before you know it the F1 class died, like de-ja-vu. So I am extremely happy that Tamiya brought the F103-GT to life, and also pretty happy that with running TC tires, I no longer have to worry as much about run-out or bringing my old Cobra tire lathe to the track. So here is a picture of my F103 GT, I have recycled some Hop Ups from My F103, such as the rear Tamiya Titanium Axle, the Diffuser and the Turnbuckles, but have added a new Tamiya Ball Link T-Plate mount and a few other Tamiya Goodies. I am still awaiting the full Titanium Screw sets (tamiya) and an Acto Power F1-Motor.

Thanks, hope you watched the right video, the link was not the right one, goes to my vids thouhg. this is the rx-7 one. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vXTcCzi-OVE
I have not yet recieved the kit. -it is the finished body one, so i dont want to wreck that body. (allthaugh new finished one is less then 40$ )
I think that the kit comes with plastic bumper, and dunno if the urethane 1 will fit on it without 3racing parts. -will know when the kit arrives! (soon i hope)

It has arrivied! ~3 hours of work and here it is.

More assembly pics here ----> http://kuvablogi.com/blog/4540/19/

Please give me info about the parts needed to put urethane bumper on.

And if i buy the rear post allocation kit (3racing) , how will the 190mm bodies(post holes allignement) fit? -on tt-o1 the front posts are on top the front tires, and rears over rear tires also, on f103gt the fronts are front of the tires and front of rears also. So how can i use same bodies on both?

Hi Guys,
it's good to see that I'am not the only one,who love this class.
I started 6 weeks ago with F1 car and can not remember when I hat that blast with one of my other cars.
We already started again to re-sell most of the spare parts again + tires.
On our track MACH the rubber tires are doining better then the foam (maybe I have to search better for the right combo)

I did already painted some nice F1 bodies whitch I hat left on the shell for years
Me and some friends are here locally busy to get a class back on the track.

Benefit to other classes

Nice body's
Low cost on tires
Amazing speed with 10.5t brushless
With 7,4 lipo drive time up to 24min.
Low cost on parts
Close open wheel base racing
Tamiya and Cross and Corally are already busy again to promote this class again now its up to the drivers

Hey I am seriously looking into getting one of these kits, mostly because I am a speed freak, but I really like electric instead of nitro. My question is how fast in MPH can the Tamiya f103 go?

Thanks

At least that, if not more. It depends on what batteries you run, though. I'm surprised I'm getting so much time out of a year old 6cell venom. I usually get tired of driving before my batteries runs out.

With the same motor and battery i'm guessing the F103 will be A LOT faster in a straight line than a TA05 but does anyone have an idea of the difference in an actual laptime (which would win) with handling and all?...

Also is there a big f103 racing scene or is it quite small compared to racing a GT cars?

Is there a speed/ handling difference between an F103 with F1 body and wings versus the LeMans style body (which is faster)?

thanks

The F103 is super light and RWD. It tends to be faster than a Touring Car in the straights, but slower through the turns. Atleast on pavement. On carpet is another story. F103 is not nearly as popular as the TC class. They are trying to get a new pan car class going called GT10. I haven't seen an F103 in GT10, but I think the kit meets the requirements depending on the body.

I have been thinking of modding the servo saver to run ball studs on it.

Tried to put the ball studs, but they didn't have enough clearance and caught when turning.
