I can build the circuit, test it, and ship it for $18.00. The leds will be extra as there are so many configurations that this circuit can be used in. I 'm installing leading edge lights on my 310 that will be using this unit. The leds can be found at: www.superbrightleds.com. Since the 182 comes with the leds just tie the circuit in with them and add your switch on the retract channel and your good to go.
Any questions feel free.

I just ordered one of these planes and am looking forward to building it. I have an OS120FS for it and read here some thought that this is too much for the plane but It's in the reccomended engine range. Anymore thoughts on this? Also, can someone please post a link to the strut you guy's are using from robart? Thanks!

I've used a OS .91 and a OS 1.20 in two diffrent build-up kits of this airplane. It's true that the 1.20 is in the recommended size range and you should be fine. I prefered the .91 because I used an 8oz fuel tank and the .91 gave me longer flight times. The tank was small due to some modifications behind the inst. panel. The 91 was plenty of power and the build-up kit was almost a whole pound heavier then this ARF. Here is the strut: http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...LXES72&P=7

Got mine yesterday. I.... think..... I'm not all that excited about it....... I dunno. How is this one in comparrison to the Hangar-9 Cessna ?. The cowl seems to be a little bit different shape from the H-9 one. Are they identical in shape ? Can anyone please provide a couple of comparrison photos. Something just does'nt quite look right with the Top Flite one, or is it just me. Please enlighten. Thanks guys, MM

Mike, If the cowling looks different from the Hangar 9 (Large One) your right. Hangar 9 chose to do a model of the late 90's early 2000's model, with update air-inlet, that are more angled and the landing lights returned to the leading edge. (See earlier post). Top-Flite has done a model of the 70's-80's, before production stopped when Cessna stopped making single engine aircraft due to product liability. Cessna only returned to single engine aircraft production after there was a reform to the legal litigation, limiting Cessna exposure. Today's History lesson! The paint scheme, is probably from a older Cessna 182, that was repainted using the new style Cessna 182's schemes. We're seeing that a lot these days. I'll see either a 172 or 182 at the airport, that looks like a brand new plane and think to myself, well someone just spent a '"boat load" of money on new plane, only upon further inspection find that it's just a "really" expensive paint job. Painting an airplane, is major $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$!

Thank you for that. Any reason other than scale looks to go with this strut? I guess I can live with the stock set-up but that strut looks nice and beefy too.

Flying off grass as I do the wire gear flexes back exposing the leading edge portion of the wheel pant to the ground. Also it can flex enough on a hard landing or two to hit the underbelly of the fuse causing damage there as well. Looking to up grade as well to the strut.

Hey Teamscale,
I used that very unit for my 310 when I replaced the single LED and upgraded. With just one unit it was bright let alone two as you did here. Nice touch.

Well, Mimoore, That ends that. I was expecting an early 2000 version. I have absoulutly no intrest in this plane at all. And worse, the wife cut up the box it came in. My fault, let the buyer research and beware was not applied. MM

I'm pretty sure this airplane is 1/5th scale...sadly 1/5 scale full body pilots are hard to find. (1/6 and 1/4 are easy to find.)

Do you guys think HS-311 servos will be enough for this plane? TF calls for at least 44oz torque, and 311's have like 49oz. But I was wondering if what they call for is even a little weak. Any thoughts?

Thanks

I just got my Cessna 182 in this evening. Wow, I'm actually super impressed with it!

Any tips or hints on the assembly process?

Thanks!

Assembly is very straight foward. Everything fits together perfectly. I don't recall what the instructions say, but you should assemble the wing first. The only thing that's not marked is the horz.stab. Once you have thewing together, you'll need to accurately measure from wing tip to horz. stab. tip. Really, that'sthe only way to make sure it's perfectly square. I use aSharpie to mark the locationwhen it's just right. Mineneed minor adjustments, but not a big deal at all.Rubbing alcohol takes the pen markings right off without leaving a trace.I upgradedall ofthe plastic clevis's to DuBro solder type. I don't trust the plastic ones from any manufacturer. I think it would be a shame to loose a $900.00+ airplane to a $0.02 plastic clevice.

Oh, one other thingI did diffrentlywas to put the y-harnesses for the ailerons, flaps and lights in the center section. That way I needed only one extension for each. If you are going to mix channels together, that won't work. I just prefer to keep it simple on an airplane like this.

Is there any way to get to the rudder and elev. servos after the cockpit kit is installed? Does the cockpit come in and out as you please, or do you pretty much seal off the servos?<div>

My seats are applied using silicone to allow flexing when removing the floor to access the servos. You can still roll the floor out with the seats attached.
