Glenn,

Nick,

We are not the only ones having problems...

http://www.knifeedge.com/forums/showthread.php?t=17379

It has some suggestions here, but seem as though it is a common issue.

Nick,

About 3/4 of the way down, it says you DON'T want to have an IP address starting with 192.168.xx.xx

Yours is exactly that...but he didn't elaborate on why or what to do if that is the case...

Maybe we can figure out more on this...

Glenn,

Well that isn't good. I will take a look at that link. Does it say you couldn't send the information packet?

Nick,

Yeah, that's the message I get each time...

Look at the date, though, that was way back in January...maybe there is an update or a fix by now...

I think there are also forums at the knife edge website we could try.

Hopefully there is a way to fix it so you can host.

You may even want to just call Great Planes/Real Flight and talk to them on the phone?

Nick,

I just took a look, and out of 6 sessions, yours is the only one with the dreaded 192.168.xx.xx IP address.

Hope it is not an "unfixable" problem...

More research is needed...

Nick,

I just took a look, and I think my IP address is also 192.168.xx.xx....

Do you have Comcast internet?

Maybe I can host a session, and you can check my IP address to see if that is what it could be?

I found out that isn't my IP. I put my real one in and have a session, so do you want to try it?

Now I saw someone tried to connect to my session. So maybe if I dissable the firewall I might be able host. I might also need to change the ports on my Dad's computer since mine kind of runs through his.

Nick,

That is definately a different IP address...but I still can't connect with your session.

At least you narrowed it down a bit.

And it is showing one person flying.

You want to try disabling the firewall?

Nick ~

Which one is yours that you have open right now ? I don't recognize any names except one that says Nick, Glenn, JPEE and Jeff... But it won't let me log on... It says failed to send info packet... That one must be yours then ? I tried a few different times, and it didn't work in case you were wondering...

Just flew the Trex outside... Boy, I was comfortable flying it, as all the G4 flying I've been doing lately !

Been busy..... Talk with ya all later..

Rich.....! Oh.... Thanks for that AVG link... I used to have Norton 360, for a few years, but It finally ran out ! For now, I'll think I'll try that AVG.... I just cleaned up my whole computer doing a master restore again...LOl.. All brand new again... Had to save all my stuff to an external hardrive, and also re-boot all my G4 stuff... At least now, I checked for updates and got the newest updated one, so that's good... My G4 also runs so much faster, and now have the settings to high...

Cheers,

~ Jeff

Jeff,

Yep thats the one. I will work with it later. So if any of you open up a session just let me know. I can do a piro flip now. I can't do them back to back. But I can do one in a row, take a short break then keep doing them.

Good to hear you are flying the T-Rex and you're comfortable with it.

Glenn,

I was thinking that happened. Yeah I don't think anyone can get on when I am hosting. Sorry about that. Jeff left a few minutes ago. I think he is calling it a night. You could start a new session if you want and I will join that.

Nick,

Yeah, just all of a sudden, an error message came up, and whoosh... I was outa' there!

No idea why I couldn't log back on.

I guess RF multiplayer isn't perfected yet.

I gotta call it a night myself, got a kinda hectic day tomorrow...but tomorrow is FRIDAY...and I don't have a set bedtime...so I'll be on for a while.

Hope your parts come in tomorrow and you have time to fix the helis and get some real flying in.

I will be curious if it seems to help with the real helis now that you have been spending so much time on the sim...

Talk to you guys soon.

Glenn,

I will be logging off soon too. I probably won't see you guys when you log on. I will be at work most of the night. But I will probably log onto RCU and G4 tomorrow night.

Even if my parts come tomorrow I won't have time to rebuild the helis. I guess that comes with the territory of going to school and work.

I am itching to do a piro flip with the Gaui now that I can do one on G4. LOL like I am ready for that in real life.

Nick, Jeff,

Yeah Glenn, when you are the host and you log off (Or booted off...LOL..) The session keeps going and makes the next available person the new host... So when you left, Nick was made the new host as the message that popped up for me stated...

Earlier when I first arrived to your guys' session, It would let me stay for like 1 minute, then it would log me off ! I tried for a few more times, and then gave up... I went to other peoples sessions, and it worked... Then when I eventually went back to your guys' it then worked... G4 was glitching for me pretty bad when we were flying, so I need to reduce my settings a little I suppose... It never did this until I upgraded to the updated version of G4... But I also did the upgrade update for my video card also, so maybe that did it also ?... Not sure... You guys should see if your video cards offer updates for free... I bet if you haven't done it in awhile there is an update...

Anyway, that was fun tonight ! Winter is going to be cool for flying on the G4 ! I took the Trex out like I said earlier, and I really could tell a big diff on that I was comfortable more, and everything clicked a little better... It was awesome..! I still can't do those turns to the right in a full circle as if you were looking at the heli from the tail in real life... Left full turn circles no prob... So I can't wait to see if there's anything there of an improvement when I get brave to try it... The last time I tried was a few months ago, and that was the crash that resulted in smacking head on in idle 2 on the outside garage wall...LOL..

That's why you see me on the G4 sometimes practicing just basic forward flight doing those right full circle turns...

Alright, I'll talk with ya guys later... I'll try and get on G4 tomorrow night... Hopefully I can resolve the glitching issue that happens once in awhile. Makes it challenging for flying !

That would be soooooo cool if Evan and Heli could also get the G4 !

Cheers,

~ Jeff

I got an email from a RF person and they sad we might also need to have the same version of G4. When you first start it on the top right corner it says 4.00.XXX and mine says 4.00.049 is that the same as yours?

Nick ~

As you may have read a bit ago, I've re-downloaded all my G4 cd's as I did a master-restore on my computer... After I did this, I went ahead and also updated my video card, and updated the G4 to the most current updates... What I noticed on the G4, is my version is now the 4.00.054 version. Before it was the 4.00.034 version... I remembered your post 2 pages back, that says yours is the 4.00.049 version... Maybe you can update it to a more current one ? Just some FYI for ya....

Cheers,

~ Jeff

Jeff,

Yeah I did update it to that version and still no go. I shut my Firewall of for a little while and it still didn't work. So it might be my ports. That is the only thing I can think off with the link that Glenn gave me and a little searching on my own.

That would be cool to see Evan and Helistyle fly with us.

Nick
