Default RE: Official Tamiya TT-01 Thread

Someone please help me. I'm just putting my TT-01 back together and I was wondering. Does anyone make a metal/aluminum gear for the gear? The little white gear that spins the rear diff. This seems to be the only gear I keep ripping up. Also does someone know what size bearings to use that go in line with the shaft? I want to get rid of those stock plastic ones. Thanks

lol it should. I've drowned mines before. Mindwreck is my witness. =P
The ESC is dead. Everything else works. Now to pull the ESC off the melted motor (it's an intellispeed 12t ESC) and stick it on my car.[:@]
Poor TEU101BK.

That's odd, are you using the right pinion in the right holes?

hi

im wondering what the normal suspension travel is for the TT-01. i went to a new shock set up and it seems to soft. but the travel is less due to the shorter shocks. just wondering if you guys use stiff or soft springs etc?

lol oh man, poor ESC. I've drenched mines in water before and it still works fine. I plan to shrink wrap it, since I have it openly assessable at work, LOL

Nevermind, it works! I took apart the top plastic casing of the ESC and it looked fairly clean, but then i removed the chip and there was tons of mud underneath which caused it to turn on, work for a few seconds and then short circuit. At least it works.
I should stick my ESC and servo and reciever in a ballon or something but i'm afraid of the heat.

yeah actually that would do the trick. Like always open the cover clean it and it will still work no matter what. It's a pretty good ESC. I've changed it out with a airtronics now though. I got the need for speed currently. I should post up some pics of the TLU-01/02 unit for the lights. I havn't had time to prep my Gallardo body =(

Thanks for saying that. I didn't want to ask if my 101bk would work after I drove it through a 1" puddle >_> The rx wasnt very happy either...

have you opened up your servo and checked the gears? i had a similar problem and it turns out that one of the gears was missing about 3/4 of it's teeth. i had to order a set of replacement gears and a better servo saver.

Same. I drove through 1" water as fast as I could, and soaked it. So I turned it off and on. It moved a few feet and stopped again. Repeat. Moves an inch, stops, sterring fails. The restart didn't help this time. I figured I'd found the limits of the rx as well as the ESC. I left it to dry by a radiator for a bit, and it still works perfectly D:

not surprising with a venom 13D motor in, running rubber tyres on carpet, i anniholated a TL-01, TB-02, TA-05, Yokomo SSG, 2 TT-01's and a Schumacher MI2
i got some amazing drift around the corners

Yeah the thing is, it happened to mines like it would start up then instantly have this constant flash... Just dry it up and works like new! Tamiya ESC!
