the satndard tamiya esc takes to 23turns it depends on your ESC really ive seen BL in tt-01s and they seem to cope ok they get REAL loose at high speeds though []
chassis wise it will take it get a decent no limit ESC and try a few low turn motors out and see what you like best
it your going lower than 21 turns you may wanna upgrade your gearing

Tower hobbies, Local hobby shop...

You can get several gear sizes. 21, 22, 23, 24, 2nd 25 tooth pinions. 58 and 55 tooth Spur gears.

The most common gear selection arround here is 23 / 58.

are they ALUM, i dont see how changing your gearing will save the gears from getting eaten with a power full motor? i understand about gearing up and down and what now, but the guys said upgrade as in make stronger and i dont recall seeing alum ones around, ill have to look on tower if u say they are there

You must be refering to the spur gear.. I've never seen a Alum. spur for our car. Set the mesh correctly, I don't think you'll have any troubles.. I striped a spur once but my mesh was wrong, I read the gear card wrong. my mistake..

Nevermind, i just stuck that shock on the car and it holds the weight, so it handles fine. It could still pop off but i don't think it will... hopefully not...

Right guys, i was driving my car earlier at my local track, with a venom 13D motor and a mtroniks tempo 11 ESC, and i heard that there may be a rally class starting, so me and annother guy took our TT-01's onto the off-road track, and to be honest it was jumping better than a DF-03, even though i was running slick rubber tyres lol, and after about 30 mins, i didnt break athing.
anyway what do i need to make my TT-01 into a rally car, wheels, tyres, shell etc
thanks in advance guys

You will need a load more ground clearance on the TT-01 for good off roading i heard you can change the wheel shafts and wheel arms from another tamiya kit to extend the wheels out grab some longer shocks and i reckon it would run offroad well

some more pics of my TT-O1-R

I also had an integy fan heat sink combo, but the fan didnt work when the heat sink was mounted on the motor, i called up integy and they said my motor had strong magnets or wasnt shielded well and was stoping the fan from spinnig when it was near. So i went to radioshack and picked up a 40mm cooling fan, and mounted it with one screw to the heat sink, its nice and snug and wont move, i also noticed the heat sink blocked the vent holes on the motor, so i dremeledthe heat sink in order not to cover the holes.

lol unlucky about your gears, how do you seal it?, and is it still accessible after?, and i probably wouldnt be running on gravel or rocks anyway, probably just on an indoor carpet track, made for buggys and trucks, with jumps in lol, so would i need to seal it then?

Just look at any TT-01 in the Pics Section and you get the Idea All TT-01 are the same just the shll is different so any picture will do.

I hope those help a little
