I dont know the original artis of this old Irish song, but it is actually the official regimental song of the 7th Cav Regiment. Back in like 1980, the entire Cav division, the 1st Cav, adopted the song as the official divisional song.
I remember when the 1st Cav division did a pass- in review for the maj.General, they played this song. It really stuck into my head so much that when we went back into field training, I pissed off the other soldiers in my platoon by whistling this tune all the time!
